Up for auction is a beautiful restored 1968 Porsche 912, The job was beautifully executed. The car started out as a California car with minimum rust in the battery box area. That rusted area was removed and a new factory piece was installed. The car was repainted back to its original color code (6809 ) tangerine with an excellent paint finish. All the trims and seals were replaced. New H4 headlights, new side reflector, new horn grills, new horns, new fog lights, new turn signal lens, the tail lights was refurbished. The original steel wheels and hub caps to the car were refurbished and re-chromed, 5 1/2 X 15 and dressed with new tires. INTERIOR http://www.flickr.com/photos/28137752@N06/sets/72157630726010280/ The interior was completely refurbished with black perforated hide and basket weave insert on seats, new period correct door panels, refurbished dash, new carpets. Brake pedal cluster was rebuilt with new brass bushing and repainted. New shifter bushing. All gauges were removed, checked, cleaned and repainted, and all in excellent restored working condition. Even the clock. ENGINE and SUSPENSION http://www.flickr.com/photos/28137752@N06/sets/72157630726511544/ Each and every bolt and nut for the engine and suspension was taken out and cab plated or zinc plated and all brake lines were replaced. Each and every part that was removed has been powder coated, such as, the hood hinges, deck lid hinges, A arms, spring plates, the complete suspension and all engine sheet metal, including the air cleaners,were powder coated in gloss finish. The engine was rebuilt with all new gaskets and seals, new rod bearings, 86mm big bore kit, valve job, new clutch disc, pressure plate and trout bearing. The solex carburetors were replaced webers and factory original knecht air cleaners were reused. The engine performs extremely well with lots of power. The 4 speed transmission was checked and resealed, it shifts smoothly like it should through all gears. The front and rear suspension were rebuilt with all new bushing, new shocks, front and rear. New brakes all around, new brake lines and hoses, new tires, front and rear. This car is very original and clean, and also very solid. The undercarriage is extremely clean and solid.
