1940 Oldsmobile Series 90 Custom Cruiser sedan. L Head 8 cyl 257 cu. in. engine. This car has the rare Hydramatic transmission option, the very first US car to offer a fully automatic transmission. Odometer shows 42,700 but no way to determine if this is actual mileage. Factory radio delete with under dash & under seat heaters. Car is painted maroon over silver/grey and looks nice but this is not factory. The paint on the car is good but not great. There are some imperfections in the paint. To be a "concours" winner it would need to be repainted but this car shows great at cruises and local shows. Most chrome redone as you can see from the pictures. Car runs and shifts good. Gas gauge does not work (sending unit bad) so I just keep it filled. Lots of work done to the car including new rear axle seals, new brake shoes, new heater hoses, fluids changed, tune up, new interior handles, etc. There are a couple drips coming from under the car so I keep a piece of carpet under it, nothing major just what you would expect from a 72 year old car. I've had the car up to 60 mph on the highway with no problems. Interior is decent but not perfect as you can see from the pics, drivers door has a torn arm rest and a rip in the door panel material where the window crank rubbed thru. Also top of the rear seat is shot from sun damage so I keep a blanket over it (pic). This is a nice car and I think I have it priced fairly.
