If your reading this, you probably know how rare this is, if not, don't waste our time- this isn't just any old Toyota truck! 1985 is the last year for stronger more desirable solid- or straight axle- in the front and the first year for the more reliable and nearly maintenance free efi or fuel injection. They only made a few trucks in 1985 that have both. Now add to that the rare long bed and you've got a special truck!!! Here in the northeast, 85 Toyota trucks are rare as it is!!! I've driven this one for two years and have yet to run into another one! This is also an original California truck, NEVER seen snow, hardly any rain as it spent all its life, until two years ago, in Citrus Heights, California. Since arriving here in NY, the truck has always been in a heated garage, never driven in winter. The truck is all original- even the paint, which still shines if polished, but its a truck right?! Why clean it, much less polish it? There is NO rust on this truck. The paint is wearing through in places, on the edges of the doors for example, and there are a few small dents here and there, but no serious damage. The mechanics of this truck are also in great shape- the engine was rebuilt at some point and starts and runs perfectly. The 5 spd transmission shifts through all gears and makes no noises. The transfer case also works well and the manual locking hubs were recently rebuilt- along with the entire front axle- to a cost of $1100. The truck has a new 3 inch Alcan Spring lift, Mile Marker 12,000lb winch, warn winch mount with brush guard, custom rear bumper with hitch and ladder rack. The 15" wagon wheels are in good shape and there is plenty of rubber left on the Bf Goodrich tires. The Autohome Airland camper you see mounted on the ladder rack is not included- if your interested we can talk about it, but I really don't want to sell it.On Jul-15-12 at 03:44:38 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer some of the questions- truck has 220,000 plus miles, not sure of the exact number, much like I am not exactly sure how old I am some days- at a certain point, it just doesn't matter! At this point, I assume everything has been rebuilt or replaced at least once. The paint looks good from 10 feet, up close there are some scratches, chips and the previously mentioned wear. I never thought for a moment of re-painting it, to me it has a nice patina and adds to the survivor aura around this truck. I am not revealing the reserve. I don't have to sell this truck and will not give it away. I am the third careful owner. The first owner had the truck from new until 2009, the second until 2010 when I purchased it. The reason I am offering it for sale is, I don't want to be the one that ruins it, by driving it through a winter here in the land of snow and salt. I have little desire to sell the Autohome. If your serious, look them up and make me an offer. Though this truck has never seen a winter, I covered any bare spots under it with POR and had it sprayed with Rustop, a wax oil like rust preventative. I just wanted to preserve it, I've never seen a box without the typical rust along the seam- if you know Toyota Trucks, you know what I'm talking about.
