This is a 100% restored 1966 Ragtop Bug. The restoration was done by former University of Washinton Hall of Famer / Oakland Raider LaMar Lyons in 2004. This is an orginal California Car. Since restoration it has been stored in a climate controlled garage and driven only locally around town. Mr Lyons was an avid Volkswagon enthusiast and has built in his past 3 show bugs. This was the last bug he built. It was tastefully done in Silver and White. The color scheme flows throughout; the resto-cutom interior in Microfiber / Suede Gray-Silver and White w/ white painted accents. It is a very sano application. The headliner is done in white fur for a touch sensory that women find delectable. The rag headliner is refinished white suede. You will notice in the pictures that the dash and under dash are done in Gray suede as well. The entire car has been dyno-matted to ensure a quite and resonating audio experience. The underneath of the front hood has also been accented in gray suede. The instalation of the audio system underneath the front hood has been customized to give a very clean visual appearance. The sub-woofer control has been stealthily set among the wiper and light knobs. The paint is a gorgeous 2-stage and will maintain a deep gloss finish and wax for years to come. The white walls are real Coker tires with 95% tread. All window & door rubber and trim have been replaced. New KYB gas shocks were installed corner to corner for a smooth ride. Both 1/2 floor pans have been replaced and the frame wrapped for extra rigidity. The car is rust free. This classic gem rides as if it were brand new and sports a reliable and fun fwy flyer trans & 1600cc Single port motor; adorned in chrome tin. The electrical has been converted to 12volt and a hi-amp alternator installed to drive the power demand from the custom audio system. The car needs nothing. It is a great example of a resto-cutom with a whimsical touch. Over $12k and a few favors have been invested to bring to life this image of beauty. The car is absolutley stunning in person.
