Up for sale is a freshly restored 1968 Porsche 912 very original and period correct. This is a California car with all its original component, even still retain its original smog devices, all in good working order. It was stripped down and completely restored. Everything was removed, refurbished or replaced. The car started out as a car with matching numbers. (Vin : 12801692) (Eng : 1281719) (paint 6806 ) (Trans ) 5 speed EXTERIOR The car was stripped down and repainted back to its original color code (6806) Irish green with an excellent paint finish . All the trims and seals were replaced. New H4 headlights, new side reflector, new horn grills, new horns, new hella fog light lens, tail light lens and turn signal lens are also new. The original steel wheels and hub caps to the car was refurbished and re-chromed, 5.5 x 15 all matched date 11/67 and dressed with new tires. INTERIOR The interior was completely refurbished with green hide and basket weave insert on seats, new correct door panels, refurbished dash, new carpets. Brake pedal cluster was rebuilt with new brass bushing and repainted. New shifter bushing. All gauges were removed, checked, cleaned and repainted, and all in excellent restored working condition. Even the clock. ENGINE and SUSPENSION Each and every bolt and nut for the engine and suspension was taken out and cab plated or zinc plated and all brake lines were replaced. Each and every part that was removed has been powder coated, such as, the hood hinges, deck lid hinges, A arms, spring plates, the complete suspension and all engine sheet metal, including the air cleaners,were powder coated in gloss finish. The engine was rebuilt with all new gaskets and seals, new rod bearings, 86mm big bore kit, valve job, new clutch disc, pressure plate and trout bearing. The engine is still wearing its original solex carburetors and factory knecht mesh air cleaners all original to this car. The engine performs extremely well with lots of power. The 5 speed transmission was checked and resealed, it shifts smoothly like it should through all gears. The front and rear suspension was rebuilt with all new bushing, new shocks, front and rear. New brakes all around, new brake lines and hoses, new tires, front and rear. This car is very original and clean, and also very solid. The undercarriage is extremely clean and solid too.
