Vehicle Detail

1962 Ford Galaxie 500/XL “Q” CODE. NEW BUILT 6.4LT 390 De-Chromed Street/Modified car which is near completion. The INTERIOR of this 62 was completed by a professional in 2011 with a Burgundy on Black color coordination that added great comfort and a show quality finish to the interior. The 500XL stitching on the back of the seats ads that extra quality to the interior. The entire floor and roof of the car has been layered with Dynamat. This has greatly reduced road noise and improved the quality of the sound system that has been added to the car. When the new headliner was installed I added a new Windshield, and added all new gaskets to every part of the car. Shortly after the interior completion the dash color was modified to match the interior and Burgundy was chosen to enhance the look of this new interior. Some new dash bezels were added as well as a temperature and oil sending gauges for highly accurate readings. The interior was finished off with a great sound system customized just for this car. The SOUND: 1-JVC -50W X4 Mofset Apple/ipod/Satellite Radio-Ready in Dash CD/DVD Deck-Model: KWAV70BT 2-JBL 4”X6” 2 way Car speakers with plus one HCL Woofer cones Model: JBLP6462 1-Infinity Kappa One 1600W Class D Digital Mono Amplifier 2-Infinity Kappa One 10” Subwoofers 100.9W-2 ohms 2-Pioneer 6X9 rear speakers 1 Alpine 4 Channel KTP-445U Power Pack Universal Amp. (NOTES) All books, pamphlets, brochures, warranties and receipts will be made available to the buyer. No holes were cut inside this car for any of the customization that was done in the interior. All of the original metal panels remain intact as it was when the vehicle was made in 1962. All of the chrome trim, original radio, dash bezels and console pieces remain intact. The interior is of showroom quality. The ENGINE of this car was completely rebuilt by a professional and just completed this June 2012. It is the original Ford 390 big block with some upgrades. TO LIST A FEW: MSD Ignition System .533 Lift/Exh. Comp Camshaft Comp Roller Rockers Bored .30 with High Comp. Pistons/Rings/Bearings Edelbrock Mid-Rise Aluminum Intake Quick Flow SS-750 4 Barrel Double Pumper Carburetor New Chrome 7” Brake Booster Edelbrock High Rise Aluminum Valve Covers Edelbrock Chrome Breather 16” electric pusher fan Chrome Oil Pan 110 gph Chrome Holley Fuel Pump This ENGINE is completely awesome, runs and performs with EXCELLENCE! There are 159 miles on this engine since it was completed in June 2012. The car is garage kept. (NOTES)The Engine is still going through its break in period. All documents, manuals and a complete list of NEW parts used will be made available to the buyer. The WHEELS are 20” American Racing-VN405 CUSTOM TORQUE THRUST ll with NEXEN-N3000 245/35/ZR20 Tires. The BRAKES are drum on all 4 wheels, have been turned and have been completely equipped with new cylinders and pads. The UNDERCARRIAGE is rust free. Underneath the car has been stripped clean to the bare and is free of grease and dirt. Liquid Dynamat undercoating has been applied from front to rear of the car. The rear end is a Ford 9” and has dual exhaust equipped with glass packs that gives it a distinctive smooth sound. The TRUNK has been customized with trunk carpeting. Panels have been custom fit and covered to give it a great look as well as a great sound barrier. Dynamat also covers the floor of the trunk and the inner fender wells to reduce noise and improve sound quality. Also covered panels have been cut to custom fit the inner trunk lid for an added barrier. The EXTERIOR of this car was painted by the previous owner in 2010 with the exception of the TOP. The TOP was painted Black by a professional painter at the same time the dash was painted. This gives the car a distinctive look while giving me an idea of how I was going to paint this car in the near future. Unfortunately this was the last step to completion and is where I ceased work on this project and must pass it on to a new owner. The Body of the car is in excellent condition and the existing paint looks good. There are some flaws on the right rear quarter fender that need some attention. A few minor chips in the paint are located in this same area but nothing major on the body. The bumpers are in good shape but not show quality. Some dents and abrasions can be seen close up but re-chroming would restore them to 100% show quality. There are no dents, rust, or severe issues that need attention now unless you are preparing a show car as I was. The car has been painted for two years therefore has picked up a few scrapes and scratches along the way. I hope my pictures show the abrasions and imperfections. My ideas from start to finish on this 1962 Galaxie have been based on show quality. This is a fantastic ride as it is now but my recommendation would be getting the car painted by a professional. Two tone Black on Burgundy to match the interior was the route I was going to take. However, this is now the choice of the buyer. This is a 50 year old vehicle that has not been restored in its entirety but is in the last phase. EXTRA PARTS: I do not have all the chrome that was originally equipped with this car but do have some. The original owner removed the chrome and disposed of it. I have managed to pick up most of the side trim, some interior dash chrome, front fender trim, extra kick panels, hood trim, new GALAXIE trunk letters, an extra Windshield Gasket and some misc. items. I still have the original Oil Pan, Breather, Valve Covers and other misc. items that are included with the purchase of the car. *BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR VEHICLE PICK-UP OR SHIPPING.
