Vehicle Detail

Up for sale here is a 1979 Hurst Olds, one of 1334 black/gold Hurst Olds cars made in 1979. This car's stong features are 69,000 on the odometer (can't document that), runs extremely strong for a car that may still have the original plug wires on it and may not have been tuned up since Ronald Reagan was President. No smoke, no taps. The Air Conditioning blows ICE COLD air. The frame is fine condition, it doesn't have that usual frame rot behind the wheelwells as these cars are famous for.. The floorboards and trunk pan are excellent, very tough to find one in this condition. It has power windows that work, digital clock works, AM/FM Stereo 8 Track all working, dashboard is excellent, interior is ok with a power seat that works. It's not hooked up but I tested it. Power antenna (stuck, up I tried 4 different power antennas, and none of them worked so I'm suspicious the relay is bad), Tilt wheel with cruise, a high optioned car. The front end is tight, but I haven't driven it faster than getting it off and on a trailer. My wife didn't fall in love with it, so it has to go. Asap if I might add. It's missing a piece of back window trim along the bottom of the window. As this is painted black on these cars, should be easy to locate. The exhaust is toast, and will have to be replaced, probably from sitting. I'd guess this car sat for a long time indoors somewhere. The car is all there with no rot but there is a bit of rust on the drivers side fender behind the stainless piece in back of the wheelwell. Regarding the paint, it's not too bad until you get close up, then you can see it's tired, in some spots more than others. The paint on the top of the trunk lid is crazed as is the passengers side sail panel; typical of paint of this era. AND NOW FOR SOME SALES INCENTIVES: As you can see there is no reserve. If the auction reaches: $5,150- I'll throw in enough black heater hoses to replace those hideous looking red ones currently on the car. $5,500- I'll throw in the above and a correct set of NOS Delco spark plug wires the car sorely needs. $5,750 - (Sorry, forgot to add this) - I'll throw in the above plus a used but in great shape Catalytic Converter. I thought there was something missing. $6,000- I'll throw in the above, and a working NOS power antenna that I tested (on a different car). It's missing a few parts but you can probably swap them from the one that's on/in the car. $6,500 - I'll throw in the above plus a very worn but still usable California Car Cover (see Photo) $7,000 - I'll throw in the above plus a set of 4 Goodyear ST white letter tires with about 6000 miles on them. I bought them new in 1996 but I haven't had them on a car in over 5 years. It's up to the buyer whether they get used or not. $8,000 Buy it Now feature - you get all of the above plus a set of re-upholstered front seats (see 3 photos) that were professionally done about 10 years ago and remain in MINT condition. The only downer is, while the seat pattern iv virtually indistinguishable from the correct 1979 Camel Tan Lochland Velour, these seats are gold, not tan. I was hoping they would fade and they still might, but they will not match a correct back seat. I've tried to descibe the vehicle as best I could, but this car (and all the above extras) are being sold as is; I make no express or implied warrantees on this car and/or any of the incentive parts. If anyone has any additional questions, please call me at 860 794 0524. In my view this is a solid chance to buy a real piece of Olds and Hurst history for a decent price, and thanks for looking! Gene.
