Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a very good running and driving 1956 Plymouth Belvedere 2-door hardtop. This one has the original (according to previous owner) and rebuilt 277 V-8 engine. The transmission was also recently serviced by the prior owner. The very average paint job was done to match the original colors. The original interior is still underneath the current seat covers. I have not taken these seat covers off, but the original material underneath appers to be worn in some places. The headliner needs redone. The carpet is somewhat worn. The original door panels are pretty nice and the dash is good. The steering wheel is in nice shape and the hard-to-find horn ring is in excellent condition. The pushbutton transmission works fine. The car has good power and rides smoothly with good brakes. A new gas tank was recently installed. The glass is good. The stainless is nice and the bumpers are in pretty decent shape. The taillight housings will need rechromed. A few extra parts will come with the car. The tires are radials and are roadworthy. I have driven this '56 Belvedere several times with no problems. The body is in solid condition. The inner rockers will need replacing. The floors are good as is the trunk floor. As far as I know, the car is complete. The following items are working: all lights, all turn signals front and back and dash indicators, high and low beams and indicator, Amp and oil lights, temp ga., wipers, heat and defrost, dome lights and switch, all 4 windows operate well, has an aftermarket radio mounted in glovebox that works fine. The following are not working: backup lights, original radio (although included), fuel ga., horn, e-brake (cable worn). These '56 Belvedere 2-door hardtops are pretty hard to find and this one is in decent, running and driving condition. Sure, it needs attention (average paint, inner rockers, www tires, taillight housings rechromed, headliner, some original seat erapir), but this is a seldom seen car and can be driven right away while the needed areas are attended to. I have driven this '56 Plymouth several times around town this summer, and I always get looks and comments from everyone, especially from the older guys that had one back in the day. Please feel free to ask any questions. Personal inspection is encouraged.
