Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1929 Ford Model A Roadster Project. Let’s start out by stating that this car comes with a Clear 1929 Model A Title in my name, ready for transfer. I started out a few years ago buying the remenants of a Roadster that came with papers, my thought was to start something with what I had. The frame was trashed so rather than save it I opted for a Brand new double Z’d unit from DC Roadsters in NC. The chassis is made from .12 wall box tubing, chamfered and welded on a jig table for perfect accuracy, the wheelbase has been extended 7” from a stock Model A so that the firewall can stay flat for maximum foot room. The front end has a Drilled 4” Super Bell Dropped Axle, Pete and Jakes Hairpins (powder coated Black), Speedway 11” Disc Brakes, Single transverse drop leaf, Super bell Spindles, everything has been setup and is ready to go. The steering arms are connected but I did not mount the Reversed Corvair Box, it will come with the car unless I have time to weld it in, it will attatch to the frame rail just outside of the firewall. The Rear suspension consists of Pete and Jakes Ladder Bars attached to a 9” Ford Rear with all New 11” Drum Brakes from Currie, it has Heidt Coilovers, Speedway Panhard Bar, all brackets are from So-Cal Speedshop. Car is rolling on Black Powdercoated Ansen Slot Mags, they go with the car. Because of the extended wheelbase I was able to mount the SBC forward enough to clear an HEI ignition against a flat firewall, with tons of up front room, could fit a 6-71 Blower, No Problem, but its not included, LoL. Because the original body was trashed as well, and the fact that some nut offered me way to much money for it, my plan was to now mount a Brookville unit on the frame for $6k. But during a boring winter day I stumbled across this glass body for $1500 on CL and it was near my home so I went over and picked it up for a grand, it was to be my practice body. It has fully hinged doors and trunk with Bear Claw latches on the doors, and its thick .25 and better in some spots, very solid. I removed the recess firewall, and the trunk bulkhead gaining me over 8” of legroom, it’s quite spacious for a little car. No channeling allows the driver to sit low in the car. I have a speedway Auburn dash and a speedway hood that fits great, however, it is 7” too short due to the extended WB. I am in the process of replacing the trunk bulkhead with oak plywood, just to finish it up. The Windshield Posts are custom 2 piece like a 30-31 made to accomodate the Chrome 2" Chopped Windshield Frame. The Block and intake are not included in this auction, they were for mockup only, unless you want to pay a few extra bucks, they are nothing special, SBC. The Radiator is Brand new custom from Speedway, $600 and the chopped shell and custom insert make the front end, it comes with Guide 382 J headlights mounted. To finish you will need to: Mount Steering Box (included) Install Steering Column (not included) Plumb Brakes and install Brake Pedal (not included) Run Gas Lines Install Trans Mount (not included) Get Driveshaft Wire Car Please only bid if serious about buying, I need a deposit within 48 hours of the close of the sale. This Style frame sells on eBay for over $6800, my reserve is less than the price of that chassis, so bid to win. You could always buy this sell off the glass body and use the awesome frame and title for a sweet coupe project, just a thought I had...Any questions email me. I can help arrange any shipping if needed after the close. Car will be listed other places for a quick sale, so I reserve the right to end it at will. Email me any questions and Thanks for Looking. On Jun-23-12 at 19:54:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Shipping Price Estimator What is your Delivery Zipcode? powered by
