Vehicle Detail
No reserve auction! Up for auction today we have a great running truck that can be driven as is but has a huge potential if a little money is put into it. It runs and drives with no problems and I took it camping a couple weekends ago and it ran great on the hour and a half drive each way. The 7.3 liter turbo diesel engine runs great and the four speed plus overdrive manual transmission shifts great as well. The clutch is not brand new but it has some life left in it and I actually prefer it the way it is because it doesn't break your leg off every time you shift gears like it did when it was brand new. The suspension works great but the shocks have some rust on them so you can leave them the way they are or replace them, up to you, but they work without and problems as they sit. The tires are in great shape with about 85% tread left. The underside and frame are in good to great shape for a 1994 truck with a little surface rust here and there but no rot. There are a couple of rust issues that will need to be addressed at some point. The hitch is rusting away and will need to be replaced if you want to use it to tow anything heavy with it but it's an easy fix and inexpensive as well. You will also want to replace the front fender because it is rusting out pretty bad and it won't pass the inspection in PA next year. It doesn't affect the cab or anything so most other states it wouldn't require replacement. The floor pans and rockers are in great shape with no holes and only a few small areas of surface rust (no heavy rust, rot, or holes at all). There is a tiny little bit of surface rust on the bottom of two of the doors but if you take care of it now it is a minor repair or you can drive it the way it is. The interior is in near perfect condition with no holes or wear or tears in the seats. The dash is in great shape with no cracks in it. It has front and rear gas tanks. The sending unit on the front tank stopped working so the gauge doesn't work for it but it works fine. There is a little bit of water or dirt or something in the back tank because it works great for the first 100-150 miles and then it will occasionally suck something into the fuel filter and turn on the light on the dash. You can switch to the front tank and keep driving at that point or if you just turn the car off and let it rest for a couple minutes and settle the gas back out of the filter it starts right up without the light on and works fine again. There is some rust on the rear wheel wells on the pickup bed but that doesn't affect the inspection at all in PA so you can drive it as is, repair them, or just replace the bed. The four wheel drive works fine but the front universal joints have some play in them so before you do a lot of four wheeling with it I would suggest replacing them just to prevent one of them from eventually breaking on you. If you don't really use four wheel drive that often you can keep driving it the way it is, it's up to you. The brakes work great and it doesn't have any problems stopping the truck and the emergency brake works great. The brake lines are solid and don't leak. I can't think of anything else right now but if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will answer them honestly. I want you to be happy with your purchase so I have told you all of the little issues with the vehicle. It's not perfect but it is a great truck as is and could be an amazing vehicle for not too much work and money!
