Vehicle Detail

A genuine 1967 Pontiac GTO Hardtop (numbers matching) in very good condition which would make any owner proud. Some details - The engine was rebuilt to factory specifications less than 1,000 miles ago. The only modification to the engine was hardened valve seats to permit the use of premium unleaded fuel. The engine and transmission do not leak a drop! The original Harrison radiator was re-cored and the cooling system is equipped with an original clutch fan and shroud. The exhaust system was replaced this month with an O.E.M. system. The interior has no rips, tears, or burn spots. The headliner is close to perfect as is the carpet. The wheels are original 1967 14 x 6 Rally II's (number stamped) that have been refinished and clearcoated. The tires are brand new bias-ply F 70 X 14 Redline Wide Ovals as it came from the factory. The carburetor is a numbers matching, date matching Quadrajet which could pass for brand new. The body has no hints of rust, dents or scratches and it is clean underneath. Everything on this automobile works and works correctly - from the AM radio, to the optional engine compartment and trunk lights, to the speedometer and odometer, and even the cold start choke - everything works exactly as it should. This GTO is quite original and has not been modified over the years as so many have. The vehicle has not been restored, however when repairs were needed they were done and, overall, it shows well. The options this GTO came with are - AM radio, H.D. mat & spare wheel cover in trunk, Remote driver's mirror, Trunk lamp, Underhood lamp, Seat belts, Console, Power steering, Soft-Ray windshield, Black Cordova top, Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, 400 c.i. 335 h.p engine, 3.36 open rear axle. As with any car this age there are a few issues - At some point the odometer must not have been functioning, there is definitely more than 37,000 miles on it. The odomter and speedometer both work perfectly and, judging from the condtion, I would say this vehicle has well less than 100,000 miles on it. On the passenger side of the windshield there is a wiper scratch. It does not interfere with vision. The driver seat could use a little more spring, it sits just a little low. The chrome and stainless, as a whole, is very good (the bumpers are perfect) however the headlight bezels show some "checking". The paint is 12 years old and when it was painted the prep work for the paint was not well done. Some filler for the prep work is apparent as is "bubbling" between the primer and paint. The paint itself has held up well and from 20 feet looks fine, however closer inspection shows deficiencies in the prep work. This is not to diminish the condition of the body, which is very good, but the prep done years ago was not done well. There are also 2 chips, each approximately 1/2" x 1" on the hood. This is not a perfect car, it is, however, an original GTO which runs and drives extremely well (especially considering the bias-ply tires!) and a car where all the pieces are there and everything works. On Jun-25-12 at 12:52:24 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve reduced!
