1957 FORD FAIRLANE 500 2 DOOR HARDTOP!!! This car is a one owner, original unrestored "survivor" vehicle in excellent condition. 98% RUST FREE... purchased new in June 1957 at a dealer in Grant's Pass, Oregon and has always remained in Oregon, garaged all it's life, owned by a lady who is now in her late '80's. Car has never been smoked in, always rigorously maintained, has 47398 miles on odometer... please note... this is the ACTUAL reading from the odometer and we have no way of knowing if it has rolled over and is 147398... BUT... with the excellent condition of the car it would not be surprising if 47398 is the actual mileage. We just want to be honest. 312 ci V8 with a 2 speed automatic transmission, please look at pictures as the engine is original, car still has the original windshield washer bag! The interior is also all original (with the exception of the new padded dash and sunvisors) this includes the carpets and all is in very good shape for it's age. I did have to replace the windlace and thresholds, the headliner will also need to be replaced as it does have a tear and some of the seams need attention... it is not bad... we have pictures. The radio is original but not working. All the glass is intact with no cracks although the windshield does have some wiper scratches on it. Outside rearview mirrors are pot metal and have some typical corrosion but otherwise are in good shape. Chrome is all perfect with the exception of the driver's side rear fin crown molding which has had a slight bit of damage to the end and was cut at one time... please see picture. The car sat in the original owner's garage for 10 years after she stopped driving it... the tires actually stuck themselves to the cement floor! However, in the past year her nephew has had the car mechanically gone through. The car was repainted in the original colours about 15 years ago, it is in very good shape. I would not be afraid to drive it across the country. It has a clear Oregon title, we have all the registration papers since the car was new. Only selling this beautiful vehicle as I have other Chevy projects I am working on and hate the thought of just having this car sit around as it would make an easy restoration project... drive it and restore it!!!
