Vehicle Detail
1965 Ford Mustang Coupe. As you can tell by the pictures this is an unfinished project. I purchased this car approximately 17 years ago and it has sat in a garage ever since. The previous owner stated that the car had sat in a garage at least 15 years prior to that. So 22 years of inside storage at least explains why this Mustang is a very solid car even being from the Midwest. The body is not perfect, but is very straight and with very little effort could be perfectly straight and ready for paint. There are no signs of the car ever having any major damage that I can tell. The floor pans are original. In 1995 the belly of the car from front to rear, the engine compartment and the exterior of the aprons were media blasted and repainted. A very healthy low mileage modified Ford small block and Top Loader 4-speed with a Hurst shifter were installed into the car but unfortunatly zero miles have been put on the car since. The engine will still turn over and is not siezed up, the transmission was freshly rebuilt prior to installation and should be in like new condition. Here are some of the new parts that were installed on the car from 95-97, radiator, flex fan, water pump, plug wires, distributor cap, voltage regulator, starter, fuel pump, battery tray, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, brakes all the way around, Monroe shocks all the way around, and fuel tank. Also installed was a complete aluminized dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers and chrome tips. The engine has an Offenhouser 360 aluminum intake, finned aluminum valve covers and a finned aluminun oil pan. On the interior the front buckets and rear seat have been recovered with new black seat covers, I do have a good used red dash pad and a pair of used red door panels, but I have nothing else for the interior. The original factory radio is still in place along with the wiring under the dash. As for glass the door glass, quarter glass and wing windows are still in place and I do have a back glass but I do not have a front windshield. The tires and wheels are Americn Racing with Firestone Fire Hawk tires, they look good but the wheels are starting to pit and the tires just hold air, not much tread left. On the exterior I have all of the body parts not shown including hood deck lid and quarter extensions. I have excellent stainless for the front and rear glass, but most of the other trim such as door handles, tailight bezels, lenses and deck lid lock are just driver quality and will need to be replaced if you are going to build a quality car. I do not have any bumpers. Like I say this is a project and the car will need to be trailored or hauled to it's new home and the buyer will be responsible for all transportation costs if needed. I have tried to describe this Mustang to the best of my ability but have probably missed something that you need to know, if so, just ask. If you would like to inspect the car prior to the end of the auction again just ask and arrangements will be made. If you are wanting one of the original classic Mustangs and do not want to start with a rust bucket or a wreck, then this may be the one with a lot of the work already done. Thanks for looking and if you are interested good luck in the bidding, the winning bidder will not be disappointed.
