The 1967 Alfa-Romeo GT Sprint Veloce “Step-front” coupe was a high-tech high performance sports car. 4-wheel disk brakes, double overhead camshafts, twin Weber carburetor 1.6 litre hemispherical head and 5-speed. This type sophistication was extremely rare and is partially responsible for high demand for this model. Many consider this original model as the purest form of the Bertone shape. Its stunning bodywork and Italian design gave it a superb look and appeal regardless of the fact that the car was considerably more expensive than its rivals! Today these models command a premium price and respect amongst enthusiasts as a collectible classic Italian sports car for both its timeless appearance and performance! This is an original California example of a 1967 Alfa-Romeo GTV coupe with its original engine and with all of its original factory specifications and options intact. I have owned this Alfa since 1991. In 1992 the car was stripped to bare metal and repainted with an acrylic enamel deeper shade of green than the stock color. This Alfa has been in storage since 1993, always stored and covered in my garage. The odometer shows 29800 miles. I have not driven the car more than 800 miles since purchase. Unfortunately I work internationally and rarely drive the car. The Semperit tires are the same that were on the car in 1991. In 2006 I began a gentle restoration the seats were re trimmed with stock materials from Re-Originals. The interior is the original color and is in good condition. This Alfa has been kept in its original condition with no upgrades. This is a completely stock car down to the original Blaupunt AM/FM radio, with only the driver mirror being a Fiat replacement. The Alfa is now licensed in New York State to permit travelling to local auto shows. It has never been driven in the snow and winterized before storage here in New York State. The following components were either replaced or rebuilt: Water Pump, Valve Guides, Valve seals, Valve shims, Oil filter, Fuel Filter, cam timing chain , head gasket set, clutch master cylinder, cylinder head resurfaced and replaced head gasket, Piston rings, Thrust washer, Rod bearings, Main bearings, Lower timing chain, Clutch pressure plate and disc, Alternator belt. The entire exhaust system from the exhaust header was replaced with new parts and installed. A new battery installed 2011. The car has a straight body with no signs of any accidents and only minor dings and no rust The car has it's original low back “wrap around” factory seats ( Rare) professionally reupholstered in 2006. There was a minor rust whole in the driver’s floorboard roughly the size of a quarter, also a minor rust hole in the spare tire well. Both have been welded. All lights work as does the horn, wipers and heater. All gauges work except for the oil pressure. Oil Temp, water temp, fuel, speedometer, odometer and Tach are all working. The undercarriage has no damage and is completely original.The car will be sold with both original “black” California plates.
