Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my Hemi Barracuda. The car is a 1967 that has been converted to 1968 in appearance to make it legal for NMCA nostalgia super stock competition. This means that the grilles, trunk moldings, front "Plymouth" script, etc. have all been changed to 1968 versions. The car spent its entire life in Las Vegas before being purchased by me in 2008. Now for the car's details: Engine: 604" all aluminum hemi. The block is a Mopar Performance/Keith Black aluminum water block. The heads are Stage V aluminum big valve heads with 2.40 titanium intake valves and 1.90 stainless exhaust valves, CNC chambers and ports, pushrod tubes installed, full radius valve job, and Stage V custom stainless shaft-mounted roller rockers. The crank is a Callies 4.75" billet steel stroker. The rods are Oliver 7.1" billet steel pieces. Pistons are forged aluminum by CP. The static compression ratio is 10.5:1. The complete oiling system (pump, windage tray, lines, etc.) is by Milodon except for the custom aluminum pan. Milodon also made the gear drive for the cam. The camshaft is a solid roller by Comp Cams ( .704-.704-264-268-112 ), and everything else in the valve train is Comp Cams made as well except for the cam bearings which are Clevite and the push rods which are 7/16" Manton items. The intake manifold is a Mopar Performance cross ram that has been fully ported and polished and fitted with a polished billet top by For Hemis Only. I should mention that the exterior of the intake manifold and the heads are polished too. The carburetors are two Holley 1000 cfm, 4150 style double pumpers. Ignition is an MSD 7AL gold box mounted behind the glove box door opening. The distributor is a billet MSD model. The coil is an MSD HVC model, and the plug wires are MSD as well. The spark plugs are brand new RN9YC Champions. While on the subject of spark, I might mention that there are two trunk mounted Optima red top batteries with polished billet aluminum hold downs and that the car has a new chromed alternator. The headers are ceramic coated, custom made, long tube design which merge into a 4 inch collector and flow into Flowmaster 40 series mufflers and out into short 4" exhaust pipes. The header collectors are flanged to allow for running with the headers open if and when the owner wants to race the car. The balancer is an ATI Fluidamper. The radiator is polished aluminum connected to the engine via polished stainless flexible hoses. The radiator is also cooled by twin electric fans in a chromed plastic casing. The engine is mounted by a motor plate in the front. A new in the box set of polished and finned aluminum valve covers will go with the car too. Transmission: 727 Torqueflite, with reverse manual valve body, all new internals, and 10" high stall converter. The shifter is a Hurst pistol grip Quarter Stick with a functional line lock button. Differential: Narrowed Dana 60 with Trac Loc limited slip setup and Strange 3.70 ring and pinion and Strange S/T series axles. I have a new in the box set of 4.11 Richmond ring and pinion gears that will go with the car, if you want the car to leave more quickly. Fuel System: There is a trunk mounted 16 gallon RCI steel bodied fuel cell, with a flapper valve, AN fittings on the inflow and outflow fittings and the breather fitting. The fuel pump is a 400 GPH Barry Grant trunk mounted unit with two speed controller and a BG filter, and there is a Magna Fuel fuel block in the engine bay that splits the fuel flow to the twin 1000 CFM Holleys. All fuel lines are braided steel. Please note that in one of the photos listed there are fuel lines and a filter visible below the rear bumper of the car. That photo was taken before the pump and filter were changed and moved inside the trunk. Chassis and Suspension: The front end is a complete unit made by Magnum Force Racing which includes the tubular K member, tubular upper and lower A arms, dropped spindles, rack and pinion steering, Wilwood front disc brakes and fully adjustable coil-overs. The rear suspension consists of Calvert Racing split mono-leaf springs, Cal Tracs bars, and Calvert 5 way adjustable shocks. The chromed wheelie bars are by S&W race cars. The chassis has Mancini welded-in sub-frame connectors. There is a 12 point roll cage. The car spent its entire life in the dry Nevada climate before I bought it three years ago, and the chassis and unibody are rust free and solid as a rock. Tires: The rears are M/T ET Street Radials size P325/50/15 that are in new condition. The fronts are M/T Sportsman front runners size 28/7.50/15 that are also in new condition. I will also include as part of this auction an extra set of full drag slicks in case the buyer wants to race the car. These are M/T ET Drag slicks size 28/10.5/15. They have four runs on them on a friend's bracket car and are in almost like new condition. Wheels: Weld Pro Stars are on all four corners as well as the extra set of drag slicks. Brakes: Wilwood disc brakes are on all four wheels, and the master cylinder is a polished billet aluminum Wilwood unit as well. There is line lock unit connected to the front brakes for burnouts, if the owner wishes to race the car. The line lock button is in the shifter lever. Interior: The car has new Year One seat covers, headliner and dash pad. The car's driver's seat is fastened to the cage, there are safety harnesses on both front seats, there is a window net, fire extinguisher and everything else that the NHRA or NMCA require for their general safety regulations. The back seat is removed and the rear area is fully carpeted or upholstered per sanctioning body laws for nostalgia super stock racing. Grant steering wheel, Autometer monster tach, radio delete plate on dash, temp, oil pressure and voltmeter gauges added. Exterior: The body is painted in PPG base coat clear coat red with gold pearl and black with red pearl. The paint is nice and new but not concourse show quality. The hood, front fenders and front bumper are fiberglass. There is a master cutoff switch on the underside of the rear bumper with "on/off" lettering on the top of the bumper above the switch. If you have any questions, just send them via eBay. I will try to answer them as best I can; but please don't waste my time and yours, if you aren't a serious buyer. Good luck bidding.
