Vehicle Detail

For Sale: 1994 Honda Civic del Sol Si (w/ B18B1 engine + suspension modified) Mileage ~180,000 VIN JHMEH6161RS007009 This car is current on required Texas state registration and inspection (good till March 2013), it is ready to go for daily driving. Measured gas mileage is ~26mpg on regular. We're having our 2nd child and wife has demanded a larger 2nd car. Also, the garage with all the tools to do the work I wanted to do is no longer available to me (it had to close). I'd like to keep this car as a daily commuter, but I just don't have the space. So looking for a good home! Videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RonKF_NT5T4 (startup) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5C5lS8hsmY (warm idle) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MOfnOGC7xo (normal acceleration) The following have been replaced within the past year and have less than 5,000 miles of wear.... NEW Tires (Dunlop Direzza 205/55R15 88V DZ101), plenty of tread left NEW Battery (generic WalMart), new and should last 5+ years NEW Trunk shocks (originals weren't holding trunk lid open anymoe, which made it hard to put the Targa top in the rack; so I replaced both of them) NEW Windshield (the original windshield had two cracks emerging, so I just replaced the whole windshield when I got the windows tinted) NEW Front Lower Control Arms (with new ball joints) [still have original, good for pressing in new bushings] NEW Rear Lower Control Arms (nothing wrong with the old ones, just wanted new style ones) NEW Bushings (Energy Suspension complete kit 16.18103R) NEW Seat Covers (generic) NEW Steering wheel cover (generic) NEW 4x6" Speakers (generic) NEW On-windshield inner mounted amplified radio antenna NEW Remote keyless entry NEW Front brake callipers (car has 4-wheel disc brakes) NEW Master Brake Cylinder NEW Master Clutch Cylinder NEW Alternator (still have original core) NEW Front/Rear Neuspeed Race springs (yellow) NEW Rear Lower/Upper strut bars NEW One Piece headlights w/ new bulbs [still have originals] NEW Rear taillights (new style) [still have originals] NEW JVC DVD Player AM/FM Radio (remotable faceplate) NEW 3rd brake light (original one stopped working) NEW Front adjustable camber kit (the good fork kind, not the cheap inserts) NEW Rear adjustable camber kit (standard double threaded type) NEW Window tint (including rear window) NEW Spark plug wires and spark plugs NEW Injectors and injector seals NEW Valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket (replaced while inspecting head and bottom end after I bought the car) PAINT: You can see in the photos that the car has been repainted to a dark metallic gray. The del Sol was never originally offered in this color (it was only offered in a light gray). The interior (engine bay and trunk) are still the original green color. The exterior antenna was shaved off during the repaint (and a new amplified antenna is installed on the inside of the windshield). ENGINE: The original 1.6L VTEC SOHC 125hp engine was replaced with a larger '93 (ODB-I) B18B1 1.8L 16V non-VTEC 142hp (6800 rpm red line). This includes new transmission, ECU, engine mounts. The swap is very well done, retaining factory appearance. The engine performance is good, with an estimated ~50k since the rebuild. The original del Sol Si gauge cluster is installed, which shows a redline of 7200rpm (but the B18B1 engine wasn't designed to go quite that high, I try to keep it under 6000). With these engine mounts, it can fit any B-series Honda engine (from about '92 - '01 including Integra 1.8L, Civic Si/del Sol VTEC 1.6L, or CRV 2.0L). SUSPENSION: Generic front upper tower bar. Factory front anti-sway bar. Rear lower/upper strut bars for stiffening. Neuspeed Race springs are installed with new aftermarket shocks. Front and rear lower control arms have been replaced (also with new ball joints up front). Adjustable camber kits installed (front and rear). EnergySuspension bushing kit was installed. See photos. The suspension is fairly stiff (poly. bushings+Race springs), so the cornering is rock solid to me. I was looking forward to completing the setup with the rear anti sway bar. ELECTRONICS: All headlights, taillights, aux. lights, interior lights work fine. Power side mirrors work fine. Radio works fine (powered antenna is routed along the passenger side portion of the inside of the windshield). Cruise control is installed (OEM), but NOT working. AC Issue: This car is equiped with AC, but it is currently NOT working (RF134a type). The condensor was replaced fairly recently by the previous owner. The clutch on the AC wore out, and was actually starting to arc. So I removed the AC belt and tension pulley. But I ran out of time to get the condensor and its clutch rebuilt. Here are the things I've discovered or know about the car since I've owned it... ISSUE Cruise control not working (power light on switch does not come on, have checked and can not determine any fault with fuses) ISSUE Remote trunk release (actuates on pressing the remote, but for some reason will not actually unlatch the trunk) ISSUE Passenger door latch a little hard to open sometimes (sometimes requires two pulls, sometimes it works fine) ISSUE A/C Compressor clutch wore out (A/C works, but is disabled until had time to replace its clutch plate) ISSUE Right (passenger) front fender has small dent ISSUE Left (driver) front fender has crease along inner edge (caused by damage from SEARS) ISSUE Trunk floorboard interior is missing (i.e. the coverboard over the spare tire) ISSUE Tear on weather stripping does cause some water leakage during heavy rain (common issue with del Sol's; not excessive, but you'll notice it in heavy rain) ISSUE Cigaratte lighter does not work (daughter dropped a coin down the plug; can't get it out and so unplugged the connector for now to prevent anything shorting out) OTHER NOTES - Rear wing is Honda OEM - Original del Sol Si wheels replaced with Acura Integra LS 15" wheels (but Honda emblem center cap) - Rear window rolls up/down fine, no hesitation - Car is registered for Texas till Mar 2013, and Passed Inspection (next inspection due March 2013) - Added buzzer to indicate when head lights are on and the door is open (prevents leaving car with headlights on and draining battery) I get asked a lot what kind of MPG I get. So I recorded my gas reciepts for a few weeks, and here are the results I got (which overall average to about 26mpg, on regular 87 gas and mixture of highway and city driving on my commutes): date
