Vehicle Detail
This is a great daily driver, runs VERY strong from off idle on up. My guess is under 3000 miles on the motor, it is built fairly stock for a 455. It has been built with the best Oldsmobile parts, including the desirable high nickel 425 Toro 'D' block and the 'C' heads. With a 455 crank it has every bit of the 455's famed 400 hp and 510 lb/ft of torque. It is a torque monster. Car is outfit with a Munice 4-speed and built 10 bolt posi rear, I believe 3.25:1. I have the original 3-speed and 12 bolt rear if you want it. Original motor was gone at least before the owner before me. The ignition has been upgraded to HEI and this motor has no weak spots. The 850 double pumper could be replaced with something a little smaller like a 750 or 800 with a choke. To match the power of the motor are original front disc brakes that feel as good as a new cars. It has power steering and I have all of the original A/C components. Exterior: Paint is clear and deep. There is small amount of metal flake giving the car a very dark chocolate look at night. Black during the day. No rust....an original TX car with very straight original sheet metal. All chrome trim is livable but shows signs of pitting. The bumpers are the worst of the chrome items and have some rust spots but only surface. Wheel moldings are new, rims are in good shape. All glass is in nice shape. Interior and trim: The car has a new dash but other than that everything shows wear, but its fine for daily driving. The drivers seat has a small punchure from a seat spring on the side and an old color matching patch. The rest of the seats are nice and the car has the Tic-Toc-Tac. Window moldings and a good bit of the rubber trim stuff would need replaced if you plan to allow the car to see rain. It never has with me or the previous owner. Again, this car is a solid car ready to drive anywhere. The car just rides nice and feels solid. Everyone always asks "why are you selling" so I'll tell you. I moved to a small farm and have two kids ready to start college. The car is now only seeing about 500 miles a year and it just seems like the right time. Reserve is a good bit lower than the previous posting, you won't be sorry if you win this car !
