RETAIL VALUE: $9,500 Up for sale is a beautiful 1979 Pontiac Trans Am in turn key, daily driver condition that has always been garaged and in the ownership of the same family since it was purchased new in Ohio, Michigan back in 1979. This car was moved to California in 1982 where it has remained since. This car is what I would call a local 'barn' find and is in awesome running condition with a history that can't be beat. I travel around and look for these old cars locally and one rarely finds these old muscle cars that can trace the history from the factory anymore, this one is unique and exciting! All records from new are included with this cultural American Icon including a $7,000+ recent engine rebuild of what is considered to be the last true Pontiac V8 engine, the 301. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_V8_engine#301). The Pontiac 301 engine is the platform base for the Indy Racing Engines of this era to follow, solidifying it's legacy and heritage amoungst Pontiacs racing history. This car is in what I would call B Grade condition, with not much needed beyond a minor refreshments to the interior/exterior - see pics, with no major flaws on either other than the wear of daily use. This car is a solid runner with a solid history. One incident in this vehicles history was that in 1986 the car was stolen. It was rec'd back with no major damage, the insurance company did not want to pay for repairs, so the owner bought it back and had the repairs done - all receipts included. Because of this the title says 'salvage.' Paperwork on all repairs after the theft and recent smog available and included with the vehicle. Condition: - American Cultural Icon - will always turn heads - great investment car - 1 Owner for 30 Years+, family car bought new in Mich, Ohio - 38,000 Miles on rebuilt (2002) Pontiac 301 4.9L V8 (This RARE 301 V8 was only offered in Mich, Ohio in 1979) - All records since new (including $7K Engine Rebuild) - Rust Proofed from the factory - Moved to car from Ohio to California in 1982 - Always Garaged - Has been daily driver until decided to sell - Repaint in 1987 - needs refresh but good 10 footer - Original Transmission - serviced and resealed - Just the smallest drip from the manifold in evidence - not enough to effect oil level / performance - Good tires, brakes, electrics, everything works - Power window on passenger side sticks on occasion - Power door locks stick on occasion - No cracks in dash or rear window area, like new condition, very nice - Nothing missing or broken on interior with the exception of one small piece missing on the arm rest of the passenger side door. All else, very clean given the age - Starts right up, ready to drive - AC equiptment in place, needs recharge - Heritage Brown exterior with cream cloth interior - repaint in 87 - New heater core plus huge list of new's! all detailed in records - see pics or call! You will not find a better opportunity to own a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. This car is an investment in American Culture and comes WITH NO SURPRISES OR DISAPPOINTMENTS. This car is what I would consider to be ready to be purchased & flipped or upgraded with little effort into a show winning masterpiece.
