Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is the '66 Shelby GT350. I'm the 3rd registered owner but the car has been rebuilt at some point and is not all original. That said it has been restored and rebuilt to full '66 Shelby specs with the exception of lower A-arms, side exhaust, '65 steering wheel, '65 9' rear end with 3.89 gears and dash horn switch - all of which are '65 spec and were not original to the car from Shelby. Car has had the front end replaced with new aprons which do not contains any of the Ford VINs. Car is listed in SAAC registry and last owner was a prominent Shelby guy who owned 12 other GT350s... picked this one up in late '70s partially incomplete in Florida {car originally from Oregon, Hertz and was black with gold stripes.... Fast forward to '09 when it was traded to Joe Amato's Collectible cars {Joe Amato race car driver, Amato tires..} They began full restoration but business dispute with partner caused them to 'fire' sell all stock to uknown LA dealer who sold the Shelby to LA exotics.... during this period an unknown 3rd person reported a Ford door tag info to SAAC and based on this info the car was marked as clone. As documented in the video, this car has no door tag and hasn t' had one at least since before the paint which was good 15-20 years old at the time of my purchase {again see full documentation of the condition BEFORE restoration} I purchased the vehicle in '11 with New Jersey title which I was able to trace back to the prominent Shelby guy via background check - adress of business on title matched his previous residence. This gentleman is well known for owning the very first Shelby made.Several contact attempts where made to this person by me and '65-'66 SAAC registrar but unfortunately to no avail. Therefore more info on documentation side is NOT available. The vehicle itself is an absolute animal. Very solid, rough, fast, powerful and very reliable. It has been restored by professional Mustang/Shelby shop MAAC motorsports {they service many local Shelbys }. This is not a car you can work on as it's completely sorted out and ready to go or show on day one. Nothing needed and nothing wrong. Everything works the way it should. I relize car like this is not for everyone with the lack of ducumentation/originality ... not for a purist in this respect but still very rare and beautifull vehicle. I have made an extensive videos for buyers to look at and once you watch it you should know a lot about it. I stand behind all the info and it has been fully submited to SAAC as I was discovering it - in fact SAAC registrar and local Shelby guy from San Marcus are the only people who've seen it. Like I said, the car itself is an absolute blast and nobody on Ebay or anywhere provides this much fyzical evidence of the actuall condition upfront as I do. You should have no doubt about the car mechanical condition. Also it has a 'show car' level of detail outside, inside and underneath. That sais, car is sold as-is with no warranty. The car needs nothing mechanicaly as of time of this listing. No overheating, no oil leaks, no noise. Very sound performer car. Not the best cruiser with your wife as it's very lound and stiff for most ladies {did I say it's a blast!}. Local buyer is preffered but I will help anybody from a far to arrange shipping etc, no problem. Actully have access to cheapest rates to Europe right now - $1150 to any German port {+ insurance of course} If you wish to contact me for additional info please do so via eBay and make sure you include your name and phone contact. I will not respond to random questions without this basic info, selling this car is not a prioryti of my life and I don't have time to waste. Feel free to contact me AFTER you've watched both videos. On May-29-12 at 14:45:23 PDT, seller added the following information: To all potential buyers out there... if your looking for an original authenticated Shelby, add another $100k and pass on this one, it's not for you as I said. This car is came as titled GT350 from New Jersey and was legitimately titled here in California as GT350 {took 2 months to CA patrol and DMV to clear the paperwork, verify VIN etc.}. Car came as described in detail in the video from a previous Shelby guy who legitimately owned based on registry, but ended up rebuilding it and therefore it's not original. That IS the reason this car is in 'Mustang' territory money wise. Everything I discovered and documented has been provided to the SAAC registrar so that the next owner cannot claim otherwise and flip it for 2 or 3 times this price. I'm listing both titles for everyone to see. Current mileage is 93.368
