Vehicle Detail

The MGB GT is perhaps the most comfortable cruising MG’s ever produced. The 1967 is thought of by many MG aficiandos as the best year of the GT series as it was the first to have a 5 bolt main engine and was built before more stringent emissions requirements reduced the engines output. Also it was before cumbersome rubber bumpers took away from the looks. This completely restored GT has been updated with a modern Eaton supercharger engineered for the MG powerplant delivering a 50% power gain over the normally aspirated engine. For personal comfort, an impossibly rare NOS Coolaire air conditioner is installed and will keep you cool in hot weather. There is the addition of cruise control for comfortable freeway driving. A modern 5 speed transmission (Ford) replaces the original troublesome overdrive units found in these cars. A new Wabasto period correct sunroof sourced from the manufacturer in England was installed at the time of restoration and really sets off the looks. It opens easily to let in the sun or stars. This car was restored to a very high standard. You may never see another MGB GT so fully equipped and looking this great! There is all new interior (leather seats) including wool carpet from England, Motalita steering wheel, new door glass, interior handles, all seals, switches, etc. Window tint was professionally applied to the side windows and backlight. The windshield is tinted as well. There is all new exterior chrome, handles, trim, badging, grill, lenses, rubber trim. The B rides on new 72 spoke chrome wheels and tires. Clear guard was applied to the fenders and hood. The 1.8 4 cylinder engine was rebuilt with all new parts and balanced. The original engine was long gone so an excellent (1973) replacement was used. Original factory ID tags were imprinted with the correct original engine numbers to give the engine a look of authenticity for the most discriminating MG judge. For additional performance there is the supercharger and a Kent mild grind cam for a satisfying burble at idle. Exhaust flows through an Ansa exhaust system. There is an updated alternator and modern single serpentine belt drive for the supercharger, alternator, water pump, compressor. There is a Pertronix electronic ignition and new wiring, brakes, suspension bushings, shocks, tie rods, steering rack, etc. Restoration was completed in time for 2007 driving season. At that time the speedometer/odometer were rebuilt and set to zero with 3800 miles accumulated since. I am selling this beautiful car to make room for my next MG project. This car was built in January of 1967, originally painted green and was equipped with the optional chrome wire wheels (documented). It spent most of its life on the west coast. Restoration was started by a friend who stripped the car down to the bodyshell and removed the dings and dents and painted it. Health issues forced him to sell before getting any further on the project. I purchased it from him and had a noted British sports car specialist finish the restoration. The color is slightly different from the original factory shade now being Jaguar green which I believe is the best shade of green for classic British cars. We applied Dynamat all over the floorpan making this B incredibly quiet! We applied Waxoyl protection against moisture to the inner fenders, doors, panels. The car had been undercoated from new and was retained. Details not factory correct--looking over the shell upon purchase I noticed that the captive nuts which hold the driver side seat to the floor plan had evidently broke loose years prior allowing the through bolts to elongate these -4- holes. We did not weld back on the nuts as this would have required some sort of patch panel but instead used high grade thru bolts with appropriate fasteners. The chrome molding has not been fitted in the rubber surround the windshield but I have it (new) and it can be installed by the next owner, if desired. The rear window has the factory heating element but it has not been hooked up although doing so would be straightforward. (I never planned, or did, drive the B in weather when rear defrost might be needed). This car does not have a radio but one could be easily installed. Frankly, I enjoy listening to this B’s tuned engine and supercharger! Everything works on this car! It does not consume oil. British cars are known to drip oil but this particular car drips almost nothing. There are many other extras on this car in terms of details—too numerous to mention all of them. This car is ready to drive anywhere, today, in comfort. It turns heads wherever it goes!I have over $20,000 in receipts that I can find.I have so many detailed Photo's please send me your e-mail and I will send more to you.If you have any questions please ask before bidding.
