Ford Explorer Limited in great condition. 5.0L HO V8 purrs nicely, Transmission shifts smooth, all around an excellent running vehicle with minimal flaws. Since recent maintenance it is running like a dream, and I would rather not sell, but due to increased driving for work, I need a tad bit better gas mileage. Although not bad for it's size and power at 18MPG City/25MPG Highway. Recent work includes Oil change, Spark Plugs, Plug Wires, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Front Catalytic Converters, O2 Sensors, Front Shocks and Brakes all-around and a new Muffler. For being 15-years old, it is in above average condition. The interior has minimal wear. The Driver's seat has a couple of tears and a small hole on the side, the Passenger front seat is cracked slightly from the sun. A couple small stains in the carpet in the cargo area and some scratching in the plastics. Overall, I would rate the interior 7/10. It was recently detailed inside and out. The paint and body is in excellent shape, the paint is nice and glossy with just a little fading on the black trim areas. It has never been in an accident, however there is a barely noticeable dent in the middle Passenger's side door and a spot of peeling paint on the passenger's side bumper. Other than that, the exterior looks great. The only bad I can think of, is the rear tires are worn and will need to be replaced soon, and the spare tire was mis-placed. Other than that, it is a good solid SUV, very free of rust as it has never seen a NYS winter. The undercarriage is absolutely CLEAN. NOTE: Contrary to what the AutoCheck report says, this vehicle does not have an "Exceeds Mechanical Limits" Title. There was an error made by the DMV when registering the vehicle, and the wrong date was entered, but with the correct mileage. As a result, the mileage was reported as 148,174 with an incorrect date of 2/28/2011, triggering an odometer rollover in the DMV system (this only occurs in older vehicles with a 5-digit odometer instead of 6-digits like this Explorer has. A rollover occurs when a 5-digit odometer goes over 99,999 and goes back to 00,000, which is obviously not the case with a 1997 model year vehicle). With that said, the issue has been resolved with NJ DMV, and I am currently in contact with AutoCheck to get the false and incorrect information omitted from their files.
