Vehicle Detail
For your consideration, my professionally restored 1958 Nash Metropolitan 562 1500 2-door hardtop. Professionally restored by owner [myself] of auto restoration shop with near 40 years experience for my own personal collection. Very deep, detailed restoration using all the best parts/products, many, many man hours & dollars spent to reconstruct this vintage classic collectable automobile. Originally purchased from a local collector car auto dealers estate, had been barn stored indoors many years. Totally, disassembled, media blasted inside and out, all metal work butt welded and finished off on both sides. All mechanical/bodywork completed with no expense spared. Complete rebuilt 1500 4-cylinder motor .020 oversize rebore, new pistons, reconditioned connecting rods, complete rebuilt cylinder head w/hardened valve seats, new valve guides, all magnafluxed and decked. Complete new clutch assembly with new master cylinder. Most all new front suspension, bushings, shock absorbers, more... All new brake system, steel lines, rubber hydraulic hoses, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder & holddown springs, brake and clutch using silicone brake fluid. Original bumper bars, overriders, door window frames and front grill have been very nicely rechromed. All stainless steel mouldings have been metal finished and polished. All new powder coated, correct size full exhaust system with 1 1/8" tailpipe. All new door and glass rubber weatherstripping. 5-new Coker B.F.Goodrich Silvertown 5.60-13 2 1/4" real widewhite tires with no miles mounted on straight, original media blasted and refinished body color wheels with all new quality chrome hubcaps. New windshield and door glass, new outside door handles, new reproduction grill surround mouldings, NOS Lucas headlight rings/bezels, new taillight lenses and chrome bezels. Everything works including original AM radio, new battery. Very high quality, detailed restoration, refinished in original P-914 Frost White and P-912 Berkshire green/turquoise, Dupont Centari acrylic enamel with gloss activator, as per original, inside, underside and outside. Only needs interior completed by "YOU" with "YOUR" choice of floor covers, seat fabric/materials and side panels, has new white vinyl headliner and visors installed, seat frame has been media blasted and refinished black, ready for seat covers, I still have original interior for pattern or purchase a kit offered by many Metropolitan vendors. I have a small mountain of reciepts [not all] a complete, untested, rear axle assembly and 3-speed manual transmission to go with purchase. All the hard work has been professionally completed, car may need a little tweeking after 1st. road test, the money has been spent on this project, ready for you to complete to your choice of interiors for a fine restored vintage collector car. Excellent investment.
