Vehicle Detail
1981 BMW 633 CSI ONLY 67,602 ORIGINAL MILES!!! Up for auction is a very low mileage, beautiful 1981 BMW 633CSI. Beautiful, except for the front end damage. )-: This car is really too nice to send to a wrecking yard to part out. I’m hoping to find a fan of these early 6-Series cars who has the time, ability, and inclination to put this car back on the road. I’ve included many photos of the damage so that someone with a trained eye might be able to get a sense of what it will take to repair the car. It’s important to note that the radiator may have come into contact with moving parts, however the fan did not damage the radiator. I’m not sure what the condition of the radiator core support is, however it appears to have been just slightly bent. See the photos. Insurance paid me over $8,000 on my claim, a testament to the condition and value prior to the accident. I purchased this car about 8 years ago from the nephew of the original owner. While it looked good on eBay, I was astonished just how nice this 633 was when it was delivered to me from Las Vegas. Inside and out, the car was stunning. I drove the car monthly, and did the following work: ü Replaced the BMW stereo with a very nice Alpine unit (mp3, aux input, etc.), and replaced the old BMW speakers at the same time. ü The valves were a bit noisy and the idle was lumpy, so I had a valve job done about 1,000 miles ago. ü New catalytic converter and exhaust, which has a very nice, subtle exhaust note. ü Newer model wheels with very good tires. ü A/C recently serviced and blows ice cold. ü Rear window and rear side window tint. CONDITION: ü Paint is very good, except in the damaged areas. ü The is absolutely NO RUST. ü The interior is excellent. No rips, tears, or even heavily worn spots. ü Rear speaker pods are cracked. I have replacement seat belt cover plastic parts. ü The engine starts immediately and pulls very strong. There is no smoke. (There was a wiring harness damaged in the crash that prevents the engine from starting at this time). ü The 5 speed manual transmission shifts cleanly and easily. ü All of the lights and accessories function as designed. ü The power windows and sun roof function as designed. ü The glass is all in very good to excellent condition. ü Flasher light switch and headlight switch are new. ü The blower control for the AC blower works fine, but has lost the smooth speed variation that it was born with. ü The trunk is like new, and all of the O/E tools are in the kit. ü The dash has one very small crack near the driver’s window. ü The floor mats are new. This is a great car for someone who wants an older 633 with tons of life left in it. I have the original title, however as it was deemed an insurance loss it will likely need to be re-title with a SALVAGE notation. It is not in driving condition and must be transported as a “non-runner.” The car is in indoor storage, and none of the damaged areas have developed any rust. All questions will be answered promptly, but I have limited knowledge regarding what it’s going to take to fix the car. Good luck bidding, and I sure hope to find this great car a fitting new home. This is a NO RESERVE auction, so BID TO WIN! The car is sold as-is, where-is. I will assist in transport, but will not take responsibility.
