Vehicle Detail
1971 Plymouth Duster. Here is 1971 Plymouth Duster. Original, #'s matching, 318/904 automatic, and 7-1/4 rear end. Body: Car has rust behind rear tires and a few minor spots behind tires on front fenders. Paint is 100% all original and doesn't look bad at 10 feet back. I'd consider this a "father/son" type project that would be a fairly affordable and easy restoration. Floor pans are an "8 out of 10" as it just needs something like POR-15 in the front portions of the floor pans due to pin holes. Rests of pans are in excellent condition, including the trunk pan, etc. There is no frame rot, etc on on this car. Rust wise, it will need 1/4 panel work and trunk extensions, and a small patch in one of the rockers. But the rest of the car is very solid. Interior: Needs dash pad, seat covers, carpet. Headliner is original, but does have a small hole in it. Missing original radio and speakers. Dash is not cut up. Steering wheel is in good shape. Weather stripping is good shape also, but does need new outside window fuzzies. Glass, seals, etc, all appear to be in good shape. Car runs and drives great, however the tires are old and should be replaced to reliable. All gages work except the gas gage (found broken ground strap), turnsignals, lights, wiper, etc, all work. Ebrake works, recent brake work done and newly flushed brake lines. New plugs and wires, as well as a new battery. Exhaust is older, but is a good true dual exhaust system that sounds great. Car did have add on air at one time, so there are 2 holes by the master cylinder that needs a simple push in plug. Other than tires, I'd consider it roadworthy. This a 41 year old car and is far from perfect. I've described it the best I can and the pictures do make it look better, but its still a project car. Car is quipped with manual brakes, power steering, AM radio... and thats about it. I do have a set of 14x6 (wider steel wheels) that I had on my old 340 Dart I'd include at the buy it now price. Thanks for looking!
