The Hinsdale Police Department is selling a 2006 Honda CR-V that was seized in July of 2009. The vehicle was in running condition at the time of the seizure. The vehicle has been parked in an outdoor lot and has not been started or moved since the seizure date. The exterior of the vehicle is very weather beaten from sitting outdoors. When taking photos of the interior, I did notice what appeared to be standing water in the rear storage well area of the compartment. I was unable to determine the actual cause of the standing water. A photo of the water in the compartment is included. There is no major body damage to the vehicle. It appears that the brakes are rusted as well as pitting rust on the hood and roof. The Honda will not start due to a dead battery. I cannot relate any mechanical or operational issues related to the vehicle. I have never seen or heard it in operation. The vehicle is being sold "AS IS". There is no warranty associated with this vehicle. We do have a key and a clear title to the vehicle. Payment is Cash or Cashiers Check only.
