Vehicle Detail
Rare1962 MGA Mark ll. Besides the twin cam this last year production model is considered by many collectors as the most desirable of the line. Beautiful rich red exterior with brand new leather biscuit interior. This had the 1622cc engine which was only supplied in 1962 and the recessed grille is specific to that final production. The MG factory also moved the taillights off the rear fenders to give this final MGA a sleeker and more elegant look to the side profile. This beauty has been upgraded with the 1800cc, 5 main bearing MG engine which makes driving in any condition a breeze and you will notice a huge difference especially on highways. The added expense was well worth it. (One similar to this with the upgraded 1800cc engine sold at Mecum Auction in Kissimee for $44,000.a few months ago). Engine has great oil pressure and runs in proper temp range. I have the 1622 block that goes with the car as well. Has original MGA tranny. No rust anywhere (see pictures) this fine example of the marquee will only increase in value. New wood floors, new chrome bumpers, new mirrors, new grill, new top and top frame (not installed as I was just going to use a tonneau cover) side curtains. Has a beautiful real Moto-Lita wood steering wheel. New rubber seals throughout. The windshield frame could be rechromed to make it really stand out but is presentable. Mechanicallly runs and drives great. Original style wire spoke wheels were media blasted and repainted the proper grey color. Tires have excellent tread. Comes with the manual crank handle. The brilliant interior was completely restored with handcrafted leather seats and new panels with new carpeting throughout. The dash was recovered as original which is another unique feature of the Mark ll. My professional uphoulsterer got a little carried away and installed awesome matching panels in the trunk which may easily be removed if desired for originality although looks sharp. Very nice paint overall but is not show quality. No dents or scratches to speak of. Again...NO RUST! This is a very nice driver that you will be very proud to drive. Everyone loves and compliments it wherever we go. Recently took it to a car show where people ooed and awed over it while taking pictures.
