1940 Oldsmobile, Series 90,( top of the line), straight 8 cylinder, four door sedan. Fully operational, driven daily in nice weather. Registered, insured. Some surface rust, needs paint, but car is solid both up top and underneath. Handles well, shifts good, stops good. Some, occasional chattering in clutch when shifting but not serious problem. Smooth, powerful excelleration. The following work has been performed within the past 2500 miles: new kingpins, new pass tie rod end, new rear shock links, new rear main seal and pan gasket, rebuilt carb, much rewiring, completely new brake system.. Has very good tires, quiet exhaust, excellent cooling system which NEVER overheats. Chrome is pitted, r side portion of front grill is cracked but I am including a good replacement grill (all three sections). Interior is pretty shot but has really nice headliner and sun visors. All floors and trunk floor are solid. Car has comfortable ride, shocks stay full, don't leak. Note working original Marvel Mystery oiler on firewall. All lights work, gas gauge works only intermittently, radio and clock don't work. Still 6 volt system with electric fuel pump supplementing the original mechanical pump (used for vacuum wipers). Car is currently legally registered in Rhode Island and insured. I do not have a title (not necessary for old cars in R.I.) but can provide current registration certificate as well as a bill of sale. You can enjoy this car now and fix up as you go. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of austion end. Balance due within 5 days.
