Vehicle Detail

This is a 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88. It currently has just under 100k original miles. I have owned this car for almost 10 years and it has always been a great riding car . The car was in excellent shape when I got itfor its age and drove like a dream. The only issues being a dead battery, A/C did not blow cold. After buying the car I replaced the battery and just drove it around for a while to see if it was worth putting more money into. I loved the car so in the spring of 2004 I took it to the shop. I had them do a full tune-up and replace the carburator with a correct carb for this car as the one that was on it was the wrong one. I also had the A/C recharged as it was very low on R-12. After, this the car ran even better and the A/C was ice cold all summer. (Next summer it again didn't blow cold but i haven't had it looked at again since then) The same year in 2004 I had the windows professionally tinted, I then took it to a body shop and had the whole car repainted ( Yes it is the original color, kind of a metallic dark green). Finally, I had the wheels and hubcaps replaced with a set of chrome old school Crager wheels. Since then I have been driving the car every summer putting on about 1000 miles per year. The car has required only regular servicing since although this year I had an exhaust manifold leak fixed on the passenger side of the car. It still has a slight exhaust maifold leak on driver side but is not bad enough to replace it yet in my opinion. In 2009 I had the seats professionally recovered using the orighinal 73 Oldsmobile material which I found at SMS Auto Fabrics in Oregon. Also the middle console which holds the newer CD player, speakers, and cup holders was also built at that time. The console was custom made for the car. I had it installed so I could have the convenience of cup holders and a modern sound system without hacking up the dash or the door panels of the car. The stereo sounds great and works with a remote control. The overall mechanical condition of this Oldsmobile is still excellent. The Rocket 455 engine is still very strong and shows no signs of needing a rebuild. The automatic transmission shifts prefectly. The power steering and power brakes are great. The car steers perfectly straight with no excessive play in steering wheel. The tires look good no cracking and theres plenty of tread left and the tread is wearing evenly on all 4 tires. The car is 100% rust free. I can not even find any spots of surface rust on the body. Ever since I have owned this car it has been garaged and never driven in winter. I moved last year and my new place has no garage. I have stored the car in a 10'X20' storage locker for the past year. I have also been working out of town for the last couple summers and don't drive the car much anymore. That is why I have decided to try to sell it. It is a great riding car with a lot of miles left. I love this car and always enjoyed driving it and it gets lots of looks and thumbs up.
