Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk project/parts car. This Hawk was originally gold with white fins and gold interior. It was a well optioned car with power steering, brakes, and rare power windows. My intent was to take this car and a parts car and build one Golden Hawk. Lack of time and too many projects has made me turn these two loose. This particular hawk is a pretty rough bird. The driver’s door and the trunk lid are toast, the rockers, quarter panel lowers and front fender lowers are rusty as is the passenger door. The trunk floor isn’t too bad, but the cabin floors are gone. I have the dash, tachometer, tachometer drive, the clock and the missing taillight pod. I also have the fan shroud, radiator and most of the missing trim. I also have the fiberglass hood scoop/bulge that was Golden Hawk only and a rebuildable McCullough Supercharger. The power window motors and switches are present. I do not have any of the other gauges or Supercharger specific parts. The engine and automatic transmission in the car are from a 57 Silver Hawk as is the hood and passenger side grill insert. The engine is seized and may not be rebuildable. The driveshaft is in the trunk. Beyond that, what you see in the pictures is what I have. All of the loose Golden Hawk parts I have will go with this car to the winning bidder. My parts car Golden Hawk is available on a separate auction and an ambitious restorer could build one Golden Hawk from the two though these cars are probably better suited to save other Golden Hawks. If you have a Hawk, you need these cars! The car will need four 4 and ½” by five lug wheels to load (Ford or Mopar will fit), but does roll and steer easily. If you want to build a Hawk from my two, I wish you well and please check out my other auction. I will NOT part this car out, NO EXCEPTIONS. If you want certain parts you will have to buy the whole thing and cut it up on your property, not mine. This is an Alabama car and will be sold on a bill of sale only as Alabama does not title pre-1975 cars. There is no warranty on this project/parts vehicle. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer, including getting it on the trailer. Please insure your shipper has a good wench as this car is very heavy. This is a NO RESERVE auction so bid to win! I will only sell to US, Canadian or European buyers. The car will not leave my property until it is paid in full. Since this is a PARTS/PROJECT CAR, there will be no refunds so if you have questions about a specific part being present or to its condition ask before you bid! Once I am paid, the happy new owner will have 30 days to remove the car unless prior arrangements are made. After thirty days a storage fee will be charged to the buyer, after sixty days from the end of auction I will file an abandoned property claim on the vehicle. Sorry to do this but I've had people take six plus months to recover their vehicles and I am not a storage lot. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel all bids and end the auction early should it sell to a local buyer.A deposit of $200.00 via PayPal is required within 48 hours of the end of auction. Payment in full is required within 7 days from auction’s end. I will take a cashier's check, USPS money order or cash in person. Checks and money orders must clear before a bill of sale will be sent and the car removed from my possession. Scammers will be reported.
