1960 Mercedes Benz 190sl. Project vechicle The year may be 1959 check the VIN. This is a project non-running vehicle. I purchased this car in 1996 from a lien sale. I did not get the key. I paid DMV the sales tax and because it was not running and not in the system (plates expired in 1977) they recommended not registering it until it was running. I had plans to eventually restore it and removed the chrome and put it away. I took the passenger door off and removed the seats to inspect the body pan. I polished all the chrome and painted the horns. I covered the vehicle. It has sat since and had been at the storage facility a long time before me. I can shift the transmission, I assume the engine needs a complete rebuild. The car is 98% complete. The battery, clock and the wheel emblem are gone as is the origional radio. A top latch broke on the convertible top but everything else is there. The interior leather, carpeting and the convertable canvas are shot. The car has rust, but it has been in California. Because I dont have the key the wheels are locked turned. The tires are flat. It will need to be towed away. The pictures tell the story. This is a no reserve auction starting at $1000. I will not end the auction early, please don't bid if your not serious. This car is for a restoration company, it needs a total rebuild. A very fine classic car. Buyer must put down a $1000 deposit via paypal at the close of the auction and the remainder at the time of pick up. The car must be picked up with in 7 days of the close of auction.
