Vehicle Detail
1978 Dodge Diplomat 2 door. 318 c.i.-------- odometer has little over 27,000 miles but I'm sure it's 127,000!!!! Car starts and drives (had it around the block a few times today) This is a restoration project or finish building for Muscle!! Here is the good and the bad--- BAD: Power brakes work but will need to be addresed ( soft peddle and only comes halfway back up after pressed-- bleed??) Previous owner cut out the air-conditioning unit and took pulleys/belts from power steering. (Like I said I was driving it today but there is definately no power steering.) Air-condition unit in trunk---power steering unit still mounted just no belts attached to run it. Motor has oil leaks and some gaskets would have to be replaced Gaskets around doors are weathered and beaten Windows crank and close tight but I would take a look to get them to operate a bit smoother Headliner is gone, seats are in tact but dirty and faded, dash cracked, carpet needs to be replaced Glove box opens and closes, some knobs loose and various other issues due to age of car. THE GOOD: Starts and runs well---sounds nice!!! No major rust anywhere that I could see on entire car. Only two minor dents in entire body that I can see- one just below door handle drivers side, and the other passenger side at the begining of rear quarter panel All the orignal chrome molding is in tact and looks good. All glass is solid, no cracks or chips Extra set of heads (possible 360 but I don't guarantee) Air condition pump, pulleys and extra parts in trunk Seats are very comfortable still-- doors open and shut tight, hood and trunk same---(trunk will need to be keyed--accessed through the back seat to get pics) I bought this recently from an estate sale and planned to restore but I just have too many projects and would love to see this go to a fellow Mopar lover to restore-- I believe previous owner had planned on making this a fast street rod due to the extra heads and removal of a/c. This beautiful project is sitting ready to go either direction---finish making Mopar Muscle or restore back to the Original Beauty it was!! It is far from perfect but would make a great foundation---these Aspens, Diplomats, Cordobas, are getting harder to find, especially one this straight with all the molding and glass intact!! NO RESERVE!!! Please address any questions as soon as possible as I am rarely on-line when auctions end....Thanks!!
