I work for Cummins and am a fanatic for 12 valves! this truck has been babied. I will let the pictures/videos do most of the talking... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U35Q8wLlljw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OB_eNCro7y8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Qjv1UfjO5A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpJjpJzUpHE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YH3aHYmuHg (cold start)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDddVOHm4OM (drive up the street right after the cold start)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M0IfUgkWdQ&feature=youtu.be (short drive and a careful look under the truck)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeDnIr5LR5E&feature=youtu.be (hanging out under truck) Here is what I have done personally:-Swapped in 5 speed NV4500 (rebuilt) from a 97 model with the updated 5th gear nut. $1800 with pedal setup just in parts, 138k at that time-new stock sized clutch at that time $300 3/11-swapped in Ford NP271 manual shifting Tcase from a 2005 F350 w/ low miles $500 in parts, 138k at time-4x4posi-loc front axle 4x4 actuator-all mechanical-http://www.4x4posi-lok.com/ $160 in parts - ELIMINATES the crappy, UNRELIABLE, stock, electric + vacuum actuated 4x4 system!, 158k at time-Headlight fix for these trucks so all the power to the headlights isn't going through the switch-$125 in parts http://www.automobilemag.com/am/1996/dodge/ram_3500/recalls.html-New tires (general Grabber AT/2, P235/85r16s new 11/10, likely have 25% remaining) $800, 34k miles on 50k rated tires-Dakota digital box to send signal to speedo with transfercase swap-$100, http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=126/mode=prod/prd126.htm-ball joints, brakes on all four corners replacing front calipers, rotors, pads, etc 11/10 $900 in parts-bought full sized spare $60-alignment at 140k -valve cover gaskets, 145k miles-$50-new alternator this January $100-new starter 12/11 $80-new batteries 3/12 $180-new AC compressor $350 lifetime warranted, 11/11-new AC dryer/evap/new AC lines/NEW blower motor 11/11 (needs lines installed, lines on truck have a hole)$260-new seat for truck (not installed, no rips)4/12 $200 comes with truck-bedliner $200-5th wheel ball, I have never used, got from a friend, its been sitting turned over since installed-$125-trailer brake controller $100-cleaned fuel tank, 7/11-front and rear differential synthetic fluid new in 12/11-$100 in parts-new trans fluid synthetic 12/11 $100 in parts-converted lines for biodiesel, cleaned fuel tankI know I am forgetting some items from this list... These are the reasons the truck is not 100% perfect: (none NEEDED, could you could if you wanted to...)-park brake itself works, however park brake indicator lamp inop-could likely use new brake shoes in rear within 6 months.-the fuel gauge is broken. I reset it every time I get fuel and always refill every 450 miles or less. never bothered me, trip odometer and std odometer function perfect, GPS verified. -could use new driver's rocker panel, only rust through/bad looking spot on the entire truck, $60 for both sides from rockauto.com -various dents/dings for a 1996 truck-one fuel tank strap rusted through, so I replaced it with an orange rachet strap. 2 spare great condition fuel tank straps included with truck, I simply haven't had the time to install.-needs new seat installed-8 bolts hold it down, I haven't had the time, really nice shape seat comes with the truck, ask for pictures of the other seat if u want them-needs headliner, mine is sagging, I know of a shop that will install one for $100-dented rear bumper-new AC lines are included, but need installed, I can text pictures if you want them Here is what is not included in the sale (sorry, not for sale, period):Biodiesel tank in bed, Biodiesel pump in bed, toolbox in bed, fuel controller for biofuel on interior dash, heat exchanger and valves under hood, electrical for biodiesel kit, FASS fuel pump, amber colored light on top of truck cab, CD player/stereo/sub/amp/capacitor (comes with factory tape deck, unsure if I will have time to install it or not), the crane in the bed, unless you would like to add $60 onto top of auction(then crane is yours, otherwise, I will uninstall). I will post more pictures of the truck later in the week, the last video I take of the truck will be the exact condition you will be picking up the truck in... (w/o biodiesel accessories, sorry, I need these, and I am not getting rid of them) Here is what is included:An all mechanical 5 speed 4x4 perfect running truck, extremely low miles, she is ready to tow a house down. Cummins 6 cylinder intercooled turbo diesel, NV4500 manual 5 speed trans with granny low 1st and overdrive, NP271 HEAVY DUTY T-case, DANA 70 rear, Dana 60 FRONT, with 3.54s. 32.5" tall tires with good tread. P.Locks, Power Mirrors, p.windows, airbags, ABS, Temp indicator inside, compass, cruise, tilt, all SLT options (mack daddy model offered in 1996). These all mechanical, simple trucks, without computers are getting harder and harder to come by, especially with miles this low. Most of these dodges are wrecked, rusted out, or automatics, which means u must replace the trans every 100k, every 50k if you tow a lot! I get 14-18mpg in city depending on if I tow a lot, winter/summer, and how much I spool up the turbo, I get 18-22 empty on the hwy, depending on 72mph or 64mph. If you go 55mph, it gets 23.5 mpg. Absolutely amazing considering it weighs 7400lbs. No cracks in dash, THE INJECTION PUMP IS STOCK. This truck NEVER BLOWS BLACK SMOKE. They last much longer if they are stock, so I searched and searched for 2 years before I found one with less than 150k on it... I really wanted a 5 speed 4x4 I found a auto 4x4 and made what I wanted.... Simply stated, this truck is a dandy. Turns over the instant you bump the key, every time. Leaks perhaps 0.5 quarts in between 5k mile oil change intervals. Everything you could ever need done has already been fixed. THE FACTORY REBUILD PERIOD FOR THESE 12 VALVE CUMMINS ENGINES IS 500 THOUSAND MILES. You have 335K more miles to go with this truck. (I have another 5 speed 2wd Cummins '95 for sale in another auction, that puppy's got 473k on the clock ;) For sale locally, not entertaining offers below 7.5, thanks anyway, but I will keep it if I don't get that, it doesn't owe me a thing and its been paid for since day1. I have a bioprocess engineering degree. I make biodiesel. That is the reason I bought this truck. I have been feeding it bio for the past year, heated, ASTM standard meeting biodiesel. The bio I make is superior to pump/petrodiesel. It has 95% of the energy content as compared with diesel, and I filter it with a far finer filter than the stock filter (3 micron versus stock 7), yet it better lubricates the engine, is derived from recycled "waste" products, has less harmful emissions, decrease CO2, CO, particulate matter, unburned Hydrocarbons, and makes it smell much better :) I do not mess around, as if I am experimenting with biofuels, I do not mean to toot my own horn, but I am an expert, and have been brewing bio since 07-08, in fact, I have a master's on the topic. I do not feed my Cummins garbage, strickly high quality, ASTM standard meeting fuel without a trace of water or particulates larger than 2 microns in it. period. The decals that say VT and powered by Veggie derived Biodiesel will be removed before the vehicle is picked up, the personal belongings will be removed from interior and exterior, it will be very clean. If you plan to take a roadtrip to drive it home, I can pick you up from Cin, Louisville, or Indy airports. I can also change the oil before you leave to prepare for a 4000 miles journey if necessary. No problem, this truck will take you to Alaska and get better than 20 mpg the whole way! Set cruise and listen to the turbo spool! Do check my other auctions if you like Cummins stuff or Chevy ton trucks. Also have a 69 chevy blazer FS -This all mechanical setup is the quintessential vehicle to get the job done, and it's not broke in yet, expect another 300k minimum trouble free miles. I know I will regret letting this one go :(THE SOLE REASON I AM GETTING RID OF IT: I am tired of replacing items around the engine. The engine will last longer than any of us will live, I promise, and I am simply tired of putting my $ into a Dodge. I enjoy me Chevy trucks, so I am gonna do a Cummins swap into one of those... Thanks for your interest, I advise visiting the youtube pages (posted above) which show the videos of the truck. Picture/video worth 1000 words. GOOD LUCK TO YOU! BTW. if you need more videos/pictures, BEFORE BIDDING, email Block.vt"at"gmail.com with requests, or shoot me a text anytime. AGAIN, questions? call, email, or text me, NP. I have nothing to hide, I encourage a test drive, but let me warm you, after you drive it, you will never ever sell it, and the engine will live longer than you if you take care of it like I do. Auction ends 8:40pm eastern time, Sunday night. Don't bid unless you have read all words on page please, and agree.
