Up for auction is this 1960 Plymouth Belvedere 2 Door Hardtop project. It has a 318Poly V8 and a Powerflite automatic transmission. The engine was running two years ago, but needs the waterpump and timing cover reinstalled (which are included). She will need brakes to be driveable and good tires as she is currently running airholders. I do not know what shape the tranny is in as I have only yard driven the car, but first and reverse worked fine then. She is optioned with power steering, aerolite steering wheel, sport trunk lid (toilet seat) and dual remote mirrors. She left the St. Louis plant plum red with a white top. She has her original Belvedere tri-tone interior which was nicely preserved beneath some really ugly seat covers for twenty-five years. She will need metal work in the leading edge of the hood, driver's foot well, trunk floor, trunk lid rain gutter, trunk lid inner panel and over the rear wheel archs. Most of these areas can be patched without replacing the entire panel though I would put a new drivers pan and trunk pan in if it was me. The rockers, frame rails and suspension mounting points are solid. This car could be restored or made into a nice driver without breaking the bank as it is fundamentally sound and complete. The car is complete and anything missing in the pics is stored in the trunk. The car was sold new in Sedalia, MO to an airman in the USAF but spent most of its time in Texas and Florida where he was assigned until he retired. I have some of the original registrations all the way back to 1960. The car was repainted a slightly darker metallic red during the 1980's and seat covers (now removed) were installed over the original upholstery. The car rolls and steers well, but the brakes are inop. Tires will hold air long enough to load onto a trailer. This is an Alabama car and will be sold on a bill of sale only as Alabama does not title pre-1975 cars. There is no warranty on this project vehicle. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer, including getting it on the trailer. Please insure your shipper has a good wench as this car is very heavy. This is a NO RESERVE auction so bid to win! I will only sell to US,Canadian or European buyers. The car will not leave my property until it is paid in full. Once I am paid, the happy new owner will have 30 days to remove the car unless prior arrangements are made. After thirty days a storage fee will be charged to the buyer, after sixty days from the end of auction I will file an abandoned property claim on the vehicle. Sorry to do this but I've had people take six plus months to recover their vehicles and I am not a storage lot. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel all bids and end the auction early should it sell to a local buyer. A deposit of $200.00 is required within 48 hours of the end of auction. I will take paypal for the deposit ONLY! The balance must be paid by a cashier's check, USPS money order or cash in person within seven days of the auction end. Checks and money orders must clear before a bill of sale will be sent and the car removed from my possession. Scammers will be reported.
