Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible. I will try to describe the car to the best of my ability. Please read the entire ad as I believe this is an excellent description :) The VIN is 3J67K2M147940 3-Oldsmobile J-Cutlass Supreme 67-Coupe 2 door convertible K-350ci 4 Barrel 2-1972 M-Lansing Michigan 147940-Serial number Cowl Tag ST72 34267LAN308158 BDY 72-year 3-Oldsmobile 42-Cutlass Supreme 67-2 door Convertible LAN-Lansing, MI 308158-Fisher body number TR 979 57 T PNT 979-Saddle Tan Interior 57-Baroque Gold T-Tan convertible top1D A511D-??? A51- is either Strato Buckets or just an upgraded Bucket Seat, Not SureIt appears to be the original engine based on the number on the top of the block, however i could not get to the other numbers to confirmThe car has a power top, air condition, power windows, power seat and power disc front brakesCondition;Engine- 350 4 bbl, single exhaustThe engine starts with the first crank when cold, it runs well with no noisesIt does have a leak that appears to be just a valve cover, as it will leak while running but once turned off it stopsAlso the area around the valve cover is damp with oilAir conditioning does not work, it looks as though it needs a compressorIt sounds like there is a minor exhaust leak, but ever so slightTransmission- I believe it to be a TH-350The transmission shifts well and makes no noises in any gear, or reverse The Flywheel cover is missing underneathIt does not appear to have any leaks or issuesInterior- Saddle vinyl with center consoleSeats are excellent, front and rear, tilt works, headrests adjust and the power seat on the driver side works okay, it moves but may need some ass-istanceDoor Panels are in very good shape, The lower carpeted portion as well as the rest of carpet have been sprayed due to discoloration (previous owner did this)Front windows work wellRear windows do not work so well, they need to be taken apart and troubleshoot, the motors sound like they are going but something isn't rightThe dash is nice, however there is an aftermarket radio cut in, and something covered just to the right of it, gauges and lights all appear to be workingThe factory top switch does not work, there is an aftermarket one that worksThe center console, shifter, are very niceBody- The body needs some work, however the car is absolutely drivable and presentable as is.It appears an amateur did bodywork and paint on the car The doors are wavy and have some bubbling both top and bottom (pictured)There is bondo on the bottom of the door and it was applied poorly, however I think it is solid just a poor job of trying to do paint and bodywork Right rear quarter has some bondo on it (pictured), and possibly some kind of small patch, I don't know whats underneath but it seems to have held up pretty well The floor appears very solid except for some minor rust in the drivers side rear panel (pictured)The top operates pretty well and is in good shape with the exception of a cut that is taped (pictured)The rear window is glass and in excellent conditionThe grill and front valence is loose (again, it appears to be amateur work as it can easily be adjusted and repaired)The grill has rivets through the surroundThe frame is excellent and rust freeThe car drives well and tracks straight The Trunk is also pretty solid, although it has been sprayed so it is hard to tell There is a chunk of filler near the right rear wheel well, I honestly don't know what that's about (amateur again)Overall the car is a solid "15 footer"It would make a nice summer ride and winter projectIf it does not meet the reserve this is my intention and it will be for sale next spring for a lot more :)After all, they're not making any more of these!Good luck and happy bidding!
