1951 Ford F1 Half-Ton Short Bed351w V8- Autmatic This is a 1951 F1 ½ Ton Short Bed Pickup. I will do my best to try to describe this vehicle but please feel free to email or call with ANY questions before bidding. This truck is a great driver. In fact, I have driven it every day this week to and from work, around town and on the highway. This truck is not a concours show truck but is a very nice dependable daily driver. Get in, turn the key and cruise. I would drive this truck across country with no fears. The drive-train is a 351 Windsor V8 with Offenhauser valve covers and Shelby Intake. Transmission is a C4 Automatic. Rear end is Ford 9 inch. All on the original frame. The engine runs very smooth. Starts easily even in cold weather. Idles nicely. Temperature stays 175-180 cruising or at a stop. Transmission shifts smooth in all gears. Shift is on the column. Body is in very good shape. Very straight. The paint is more than 10 years old according to the previous owner who has owned it since 2002. Color is a root-beer color with a little merlot tint. The paint shines pretty good but it is pealing in a couple places. It really could use a re-spray to make it a show piece but for a driver it is fine. There is no rust on any of the visible body panels. The floor plans are pretty solid with the exception of a small area shown in the pictures. Not a concern unless you were trying to make a show truck. I would recommend replacing the running boards at some point as there are signs of moisture getting in under the rubber. These are inexpensive and would really dress up the appearance. The bed is compete and in good condition. It does have wood which has been painted to match the truck. The wood is in good condition and can be stripped and stained if you desire that look. There is a custom fitted rubber bed mat in the bed. All chrome is in good shape with no pitting or pealing. It has both passenger and driver mirrors. It has new custom pacer wheels with almost new tires. Tire sizes are 215/75/R15 on the front and 255/70/R15 in the rear. All lights, signals and gauges work. It has dual exhaust which sounds amazing. It is not obnoxious sounding but they will defiantly know something cool is coming down the road. The interior is custom gray tweed with Ford Logos in the doors and a custom “51 Ford” insignia on the seat. It also has seat belts. Heat works great. It has the factory radio still in the dash but the working radio is in the glove box. It has modern speakers in the kick panels and behind the seat. This truck is perfect for someone who is looking to put some miles on their Rod. It is not a trailer-queen but a very nice driver. Great for cruises, drive-ins or shows.
