UP FOR 3 DAY AUCTION1983 CLASSIC CALIFORNIA MERCEDES BENZ 380SL CONVERTIBLE BLUE ON BLUENO RESERVE!!!This 1983 Mercedes Benz 380SL was a show stopper then, and is a show stopper now. Classic, sleek and sporty, this convertible features a powerful 3.8L 8 cylinder engine and automatic transmission. This SL highlights a sky blue exterior with a complimentary navy blue leather interior. The car has 116,911 miles. Sadly, this classic was in a fender bender and is now less than cosmetically perfect. Nonetheless, with good German engineering, this car was still running and able to be driven onto the tow truck at the time, and is just waiting to have these repairs done. Car will need a new radiator,fan, hood, fenders, headlights and core support (the bracket that holds the radiator). Car has been sitting, so is no longer running at this time. I've had the car inspected by my Mercedes mechanic and he has stated that car will need a starter and water pump to get the car running again. However, the motor is not frozen and turns easily by hand and the transmission is in good shape. The car is complete. The seats are in good shape, carpet is good, windows roll up and down, heater blows... A good detailing would do wonders for the interior.Additionally, I have all the body parts for the car and will sell them seperately for $1000 if you're interested. That's a bargain. You can repair this car and have a great classic or you can part the car out and make a killing. The trunk lid by itself sells for $400 here on ebay, let alone, the engine and trans. The wheels are 20" Lowenhart valued at $2,500. This car is a goldmine! For a little bit of money and some elbow grease, you could have a great rare classic to drop the top on, just in time for summer, use the parts from this one to repair an SL you may already have or clean up by parting the car out if you have the time and space. Car comes with a clean clear California Title (pink slip) in the form of Lien Sale Papers. If you are unsure or unaware of what these are, call your local DMV /Sec. of State for an explanation.
