Due to a recent loss in the family, we are selling off quite a few things that belonged to my grandfather. Up for auction is his 1997 Mercedes SL500. It currently has only 59K original miles on it, and is in mint condition inside and out. My grandfather was the original owner for all these years and always kept the car in excellent shape. It was always garage kept, never abused, and only driven seldomly, as he had a few other cars as well. It has been very well maintained since the day it was bought new, and is in super running condition. This is the rare Sport AMG model. It is red on the outside, with a black rag top, and tan leather on the inside. It is loaded with every possible option for the year- V8 engine, leather interior, optional hardtop roof, optional wind-screen, power seats/windows, memory/heated seats, AMG rims, BOSE sound, 6CD changer, digital temperature controls, keyless entry, etc. Maintenance has always been kept on it, and all the services are completely up to date. Most recent work done over the past year was a tune-up, newer tires, newer brakes, and new rear window (plastic window). This was a non-smoker's car throughout the years. It has been very lovingly cared for and will be sure to please the new owner. Along with the car we have the original owners manuals/books and two (2) original Mercedes sets of keys with remotes. EXTERIOR: The outside of the car is in excellent/mint condition. As mentioned, it’s always been garage kept and definitely shows it. Absolutely no dent/scratches/rust or anything of that sort. You might see a hairline mark somewhere, and a few scuffs on the bottom front spoiler. But nothing to point at. Black rag top is in excellent shape. Paint has a beautiful shine and is very glossy! The car was very well kept from day one. INTERIOR: The interior of the car is in excellent condition as well. The leather seats look great and the radio (all original) works perfectly, as does the air condition/heat, and other functions throughout. MECHANICALLY Let me first start out by saying that I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car tomorrow from New York to Florida and then back. This car was checked out from top to bottom mechanically and needs absolutely nothing. The engine and transmission are perfect, it doesn't leak anywhere, no noises coming from anywhere, and it's very smooth on the highway. All of the maintenance on the car is up to date, and even the tires are great! It drives like like new and is ready to go anywhere. It is currently New York State inspected as well. As a final note, all I can say is that this car is in incredible condition all around. If you're looking for a very well-maintained, ultra-low mileage Mercedes SL500 that has always been babied, this is it. I’d be hard-pressed to find another one in nicer condition.
