Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1987 Mercedes 560 SL. I got the car back in 09, used it for the past three summers as my daily driver and had it stored in the garage during the winter months. Although this 560SL is not in ‘show room condition’, it sure is a very reliable vehicle and a very smooth ride. It has a few parking lot ‘dings’ and a couple of stickers on the back; the third brake light, located on the trunk lid, is missing but it still is a very elegant and slick ride; with or without the soft top. This Mercedes is a true California survivor and absolutely ‘rust free’. Motor and transmission are ‘bullet proof’; the 5.6 liter, almost 300hp strong engine is probably way overkill for this little convertible but it will let you cruise smoothly at 65 mph with just above 1500 rpm, being pretty fuel efficient w/ about 16-22 miles per gallon (city / freeway, depending on your driving) and should you have the urge to ‘step on it’, it will jump and leave a lot of newer sports cars in the dust. There are a few issues I need to mention: The heater works but the blower motor has an issue; it starts randomly but if it fails to start it will blow the fuse. I did not fix that because I’ve only driven the car during the summer, mostly with the top down so I just took the fuse for the fan out. The odometer doesn’t work; it currently reads 141k miles; the last reported reading was in 2009 at 139k miles; I’ve been driving approximately 3k miles per season through the past 3 years, the actual mileage of the vehicle should be just below 150k miles by now. All other gauges, tachometer, speedometer are working flawless. The main transmission seal has a small leak; as a result I have to add about a pint of ATF every 1500 – 2000 miles. It was just not enough for me to get it fixed. It had that leak when I got the car and it has not gotten worst. Here some more facts: · The car is 100% stock · California car - No rust!! · Shocks replaced in 2010 · Brakes redone in 2010 · New fuel pumps (2) · New fuel filter · New cold start valve · New canvas top installed in 2010 · Have a hard top for the car but the paint is fading · Interior is in good shape; no cracks in the dash or leather seats. · Car will be sold with new California smog test. · I have a full vehicle and title report; can email that to you upon request. I am selling this car to the highest bidder and there won’t be a reserve; bidders with ‘zero’ or negative feedback score need to contact me before bidding. Make sure to ask all your questions before bidding. Good Luck !!!
