Vehicle Detail

- RE-LISTING DUE TO NON PAYING BIDDER - Up for your consideration is a beautiful and powerful 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T. I am listing this Coronet R/T for the long time owner who has had restoration work done to the car over the past 14 years. The car has been garaged and covered since purchase and has not seen any inclement weather since. This is a very nice show/cruise car that was built to drive and enjoy. The Coronet was repainted in the correct original QQ1 Dark Red Poly about 7 years ago by a long time local bodyman/painter who laid down the PPG base coat/clear coat paint. While the car was apart for refinishing, the minimal rust over the rear wheel wells was replaced with welded in patch panels. The underside of the car is extremely clean with no rust in the floor pans, frame rails or trunk. This Coronet has never had the doors, fenders, or the deck lid taken off. The engine compartment and the back side of the hood and inside the trunk were painted, but the door jambs and back side of the deck lid are the original paint and were too good to repaint. The bumpers were rechromed, and the door handles were replaced with new reproduction pieces and a new set of chrome Magnum 500 14” reproduction wheels and B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A RED LINE tires from Coker Tire (tires only have around 1000 miles) were installed. (A set of 15” cop car wheels, center caps and new tires are available at extra cost if desired.) This Coronet R/T has a NOM 1968 Steel Crank 440 cu. in. engine along with a console shifted 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission. The 440 was treated to a .030" cleanup bore and fitted with 10.5:1 forged pistons and Six Pack connecting rods, and a 590” lift roller camshaft. Oil passages were enlarged and a new HEMI oil pump pick up was installed. The 906 heads were rebuilt with hardened valve seats for unleaded gas and contain HUGE (2.02/1.88) valves! After the heads were treated to a three angle valve job, they were ported and polished and the valve train uses Crane Gold Roller rockers. The 727 transmission was rebuilt with a Cheeta valve body and a 2800 (3000-3200 flash) converter ensures the shifts are positive and firm! The motor has less than 5000 miles since being professionally rebuilt approximately 7 years ago. The exhaust system consists of headers with 3” collectors going into 2 ½” aluminized pipes with 2-chamber 30 series Flowmaster mufflers and 2 ½” tailpipes with factory turndown bends under the rear bumper. (There is no better sounding exhaust system than the one on this Coronet R/T!) The 8-¾" rear differential was rebuilt and has a 3.23 ratio ring and pinion with Sure Grip, along with rebuilt factory rear Heavy Duty drum brakes. The front suspension and steering box are original and tight. (We believe the car only has around 55-60k original miles, the odometer reads 51,437) Inside, the dash was repainted and detailed while the carpet, package tray, front and rear seat covers were replaced 12 years ago along with the door panels front and rear witch were replaced 4 years ago with Legendary factory reproduction pieces. The original factory headliner and one sun visor both have seams coming loose and will need to be repaired/replaced soon. The factory dash pad is driver quality, it has a few very small splits along the front edge. (see photos) This is an opportunity to own a very well built and maintained first generation R/T that not only sounds good, but will scare the faint of heart and will go about anywhere you set out to go! I want everyone to understand that this is a very good cruiser/driver, if you are expecting a fully restored Coronet R/T that has been turned into a driver over the last 14 years DO NOT BID, This is a very good original Coronet R/T that has been built to the owners standards which makes it one hell of a car! This Coronet R/T is one of the best driving and strongest running Mopars I have ever had the pleasure of driving. It does everything right, turn key and choose a destination, hit the loud pedal and hang on! Ear to ear grin on your face and anyone around you, guaranteed! According to Galen Govier's figures, this Coronet R/T is one of 8,471 built (440 4-barrel Torqueflite) and there are not many that are as nice as this one for anything close to this price on eBay, or anywhere else!!! Bid now and make this turn-key show screamer yours before someone else does! I have more pictures and encourage everyone to ask questions prior to bidding! Good Luck and Happy Bidding! On Apr-12-12 at 11:24:54 PDT, seller added the following information:As an added note - I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the vehicle is listed for sale locally.
