Vehicle Detail
This is an original Hemi Orange Duster Twisters with a factory vinyl top, The car has been my baby and my project for the last twenty years. It's never left the garage or covered parking. I had a car tent blow over and scratch it a little but its all easy fixing, it should be easy to fix and buff out. The original car owners were from Idaho, so the car literally had no rust other than two small spots behind the rear tiers. I am the second owner, the original owners claimed the car was a high school graduation present and had been specially ordered with a 340 six pack, not standard with this car. I have looked for these records because this would make the car very valuable. However the cars numbers say it was a 318, The car also appears to have the original rear differential for the 318. Current Engine: I found a un-passable deal on a brand new 360 that was custom built for High performance racing. It was built to house about 600 horse with everything from MSD multi spark distribution, domed or raised high pressure jet fuel heads and high performance anodized aluminum lifters. I'm not so fluent with all the big aftermarket brands and parts but this 360 is very nice. The motor now has a street legal Edelbrock carburetor with a 4 barrel intake, street legal pistons and a street legal cam. I wanted to drive the car not race it. I will include with the selling of the car a 340 block. The car has all new suspension, ball joints, bushings and so on. Its literally has had a bearings up restoration. The black interior carpet and bench seats need to be refinished they are the old original stuff. The tiers are the original rally rims with no center caps or trim rings. When i was young and stupid I threw them away. The chrome headers and a three inch cherry bomb exhaust give the car an unbeatable sound. The new motor in the car only has about forty to fifty miles on it, the car has 88007 original miles. I am still in the process of last minute stuff like alignment. I cant get the gas meter to work ether I think the actual meter dial in the dash is bad because the tank and meter in the tank are brand new. Any questions please feel free to send me a message. I am trying to get the car to a certified inspector so that every one can be reassured that the car is what it is. Thanks... Below is a clip from an article about the 71 twistersThe Plymouth Duster Twister Package Having spent most of their 1971 tooling dollars on new parts for the limited-volume Duster 340, the Plymouth sales and marketing types created the Plymouth Duster Twister package (the name itself a neat twist on Duster) in hopes of getting wider use from the new tools. Announced in February, it was available on six- and eight-cylinder cars. Twisters were fitted with the distinctive 340 grille and a special black "Duster twirl" bodyside tape stripe with Twister decals. Except for a black-and-body-color strobe treatment on the center plateau, the hood was blacked out and could be ordered with twin flat black simulated hood scoops. Lower deck stripes, dual racing mirrors, wheel lip and drip rail moldings, deluxe seat trim, whitewalls, and Rallye road wheels (sans trim rings) completed the package. To hammer home the idea that the Twister was a 340 look-alike,
