Vehicle Detail
This is an abolutely GORGEOUS 1972 F@rrari Daytona replica. Equipped with a 350 V8 LT-1 engine, and a GM 6-Speed transmission. It is Black and Beautiful.....Fast and Furious! I bought this car 2 years ago in Dallas. It is a McBurnie kit sitting on a 1976 Corvette frame. It had been sitting in a garage for 20 years. Car had a total of 16,800 miles on it. Prior to purchasing it, I had spent several thousand dollars travelling to various locations looking at Daytona's for sale. They were all represented to be much more than they were. Instead of masterpieces, they looked like they had been built by some kid down the street. In most cases, "Horrible" would be an understatement. So I decided to buy a car that needed everything, and do everything myself. And that's what I did...... I brought the car home, and completely disassembled it. I bought an LT-1 engine and 6-Speed transmission out of a wrecked Z-28 Camaro. That was probably a mistake, because by the time I bought the engine and transmission, bought the computers to make the conversion work (the LT-1 is fuel-injected....not carbureted) new wiring harness, fuel pump, labor to install, etc., etc. it ended up costing about $8500. But it really made a difference. The LT-1 is incredibly fast and responsive....and the 6-speed makes the car. (I couldn't imagine putting an automatic transmissiion in a car like this. It'd be like putting a 4-speed in a Cadillac. It doesn't fit the car.) I then put new clutch, brakes, shocks, steering and front-end, exhaust.....everything you can replace has been replaced. I used digital instruments for the speedo and tach....they match the other guages, but are much more reliable. Spent about $10,000 on the interior, new soft top and boot made of German Happic material, new wheels and tires, new everything. Headrests were a grand. In all, I spent about $47,000 building this car....and it shows it! The car draws a crowd every where I park it. It's an absolutely beautiful car. I don't think there's a nicer one around. The only reason I'm selling it is I injured my back, and it's uncomfortable to drive. Breaks my heart. The Daytona is said to be one of the most beautiful cars ever produced. And I agree. The lines are timeless.....the essence of class. You are welcome to come see the car and drive it. You won't be disappointed. Everything operates as it should.....engine, clutch, transmission, brakes, etc. It is a very tight car. There are a few minor things the car will need to be perfect. The clock and the ampere guage don't work. Everything else does.....power windows, Sony CD stereo, heater, etc. Top is brand new....never been used, but needs a final fitting. It is in the car and attached....just needs a little adjusting here and there. Also, the top doesn't use any snaps. Nothing is quite so cheesy looking as snaps. Instead, there is a sewn in cord that slips around and under the rear of the drivers compartment. Everything is hidden from view whether the top is up or down. Really slick! Thats about as much as I can tell you about the car. Please bid only if you are serious about buying. We have 100% positive feedback, so bid with confidence. There is a $1000 deposit due within 48 hours of end of auction, with the balance due within 7 days of the end of the auction. Thank You for viewing my listing, Good Luck, and Happy Bidding! Yes it is as nice as the rest of the interior. Fully carpeted/upholstered. I forgot to include the picture when I listed the car, and am having trouble adding it now. If you'd like to see a picture of it, send me your email address and I can send one to you.
