Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 1970 AMX by American Motors. These cars are becoming more and more sought after. They were often overlooked muscle cars, (until you got waxed by one of them). All joking aside, AMX's are indeed some of the most rare muscle cars around. They are factory 2 seaters. With a powerful high compression engine, 4 piston brakes, a 4 speed transmission, posi-trac rear end, you had the makings of one very fast, nice handling, and great looking car. I was lucky enough to find this car about 10 years ago. Other than the occasional oil change and other maintenance, it has been the best car that I have ever owned. This AMX has the original 390 cubic inch engine with the factory 291C high compression heads. It has been rebuilt, along with a restoration that was done before I got the car. It does have a 4 speed transmission that shifts perfectly. The original 4 piston disk brakes work perfectly. It has good shocks, and the rear springs have been replaced. The front end is in great shape and needs nothing. The interior has extra gauges and the correct ventilair seats. The rim blow steering wheel is there, but the horn does not work. It also has no head liner. The factory gauges do not work, and the heater cables seem to be stuck. The speedometer and the Tach work as they should. The paint was done about 15 years ago. Although it shines great, it is showing its age with some minor flaws. Of course, it has always been garage kept. It still shows well, but it has some chips here and there. The only sign of any rust is in the rear quarters behind the tires. There are a couple of pea sized bubbles in the paint. The engine is mostly stock. It has an edelbrock carburetor with an electric choke. It idles and runs great. The exhaust has the free flow manifolds with an X pipe in the exhaust system. It sounds throaty but not overly loud. I would trust this car to go anywhere in the US. If you are in the San Antonio area, I would be glad to show the car to you. If you have any questions, please send me a message, and I will respond promptly. My email is ramblerracer770@yahoo.com. This is a great car to take to then next level, or enjoy as is. Thanks for looking. On Mar-21-12 at 18:56:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention a few things about the car. The door tag reads: Body R000029, Trim 036F, Paint 79A. And the # on the dash plaque is 17212. I also just put a brand new set of tires on it.
