This is an awesome and rare stick shift with Gold exterior over Black interior. A truly classic German sports car with factory 4 speed, manual steering, 4 wheel power disc brakes, independent suspension and factory Bosch fuel injection. German canvas top in great condition.* Original leather interior* Our family has owed this car since 1984.* Always garaged and covered MORE DETAILS: This beautiful Mercedes 280SL has been in our family since 1984 and is being offered with NO RESERVE. It is not a perfect show car but in very nice driver condition. It is not the original color but was painted gold in the 1980’s. Our understanding is that the gold color selected was a Mercedes color from the 1980’s. The car runs great, has no fluid leaks or drips. The chrome, glass, dash, wood and paint are all in very nice condition. The trunk and floor pans look to be original and in good condition and the number on the hood matches the vehicle number. We want the purchaser to be completely happy with the car and have no surprises, so we have included several pictures to try and show the ‘flaws’ we have noticed with the car. These flaws include: original leather seats show creasing and normal wear with a small hole in driver's seat, rubber heater control knobs are broken (we have the new replacement parts), clock does not work, stereo is not original, carpet under floor mats is in bad condition, the inner front fender area does not have original spot welds and sheet metal lip… this area appears smooth, so some body work was done in this area sometime before our family acquired the car.This is a beautiful car that is a pleasure to drive and enjoy. According to NADA, this car has appreciated in value 19% in the past 4 years. Why not invest in a vehicle you can truly appreciate as well? Please no dealers!
