Vehicle Detail
1992 XJS V12 Convertible, this is a true 2 seat, no back seat. This is a beautiful car with a low reserve. I purchased this vehicle after it was donated to a local charity. I purchased it strictly for the purpose of reselling it. I now have clear title in my name. Here is what I know about the car. It is a one owner vehicle prior to my acquisition of it. It was owned by a Doctor here in Texas. The car has spent its life in Texas and is absolutely rust free. The car apparently sat for some time (~ 7years) prior to being donated to the charity. Mechanical---- The car did not run when I purchased it. I pulled the fuel tank, cleaned it, and replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. After that the car started and runs. That is the extent of the mechanical work I have done on the car. I have driven it about 10 miles since getting it running. The engine has a miss in the right bank of 6. From the feel of the right exhaust I am guessing there is an exhaust valve burnt or stuck open. There are no knocks or other engine noise and it does not smoke at all. The transmission shifts fine and appears strong. The brakes are good. There is only one leak that I have noticed and that is from the power steering pump. It drips some when it is sitting. Engine, transmission and rear end seem to be leak free. Exterior----As you will see in the pictures the exterior of the car is in very good condition. The convertible top is excellent. Only the down side are a few bubbles in the window tint of the rear window (it is glass). The paint appears original and is in very good condition for a 20 year old car. There are some light scratches in the clear coat that appear to be from cats climbing on and off the car (how appropriate, or not, as the case may be). These scratches have responded to buffing pretty well but I have not completely removed them. That is for the next owner. There are also two areas on the deck lid that have a different finish/clear coat on them. I tried to capture this in one of the pictures. I really have no idea what is up with these areas on the deck lid. They are noticeable when you are up close. There is one small dent in the right front bumper (see photo). This little accident dented the bumper slightly and broke the headlight washer mounting. It all appears very repairable. Other than that this is a straight and rust free car. Straight doors, no parking lot dents. The tires are Michelins and in good condition with a little weather cracking. The wire wheels are in good condition. It is missing five of the lug nuts so there are four on three wheels and 3 on one wheel. The studs are not broken, the lug nuts are just missing. The gas shocks for the hood are weak and will not support the hood. The gas shocks for the trunk/boot are still fine. The only window that still powers up and down is the passenger window. The other 3 are inop. Interior----The interior is good but it does show some fading from the Texas sun. The leather is in good condition for its age with the exception of the outer edge of the drivers seat. (see picture). Wood is in good condition. The car has the original Jaguar CD changer in in the trunk. I have not tried the radio or the CD player. I do have all the manuals and the radio code. Good luck bidding, PayPal down payment and cash, no checks, full payment must be in place prior to picking up the vehicle. Buyer must arrange for transportation. These cars are low so take that into consideration when selecting transport. On Mar-22-12 at 17:38:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added a couple of pictures to answer questions I have received. Hood insulation is in place and in good condition. Trunk picture added. Also I located the missing 5 lug nuts so all wheels now secured with 5 each lug nuts.
