Vehicle Detail
Driven daily. The car has Virginia Inspection expiring in 1 year (March 2013) 144,000 miles. This was the most luxurious Jaguar you could buy in 1995: It is powered by a powerful smooth six cylinder engine, coupled to a four speed transmission. There are numerous elegant chrome accents on the outside, including body side trim and a fluted grille. Inside is polished burl walnut trim on the dash, console and all four doors, as well as rear fold-out picnic tables. All leather seats, wool carpets, etc. Plus many, many power options. This car has been fitted with 1998 Jaguar Vanden Plas wheels, which look a lot better than the factory originals. This was the only year for the short wheel base Vanden Plas, so you get both luxury and tight handling. Plus this is the most desired color combination..ebony black with parchment interiors This car has been owned by our family and driven daily for thirteen years. It has all service records and has been serviced regularly by the local Jaguar dealers. The car runs and drives well and in all kinds of weather. Ball joints and tie rods were replaced within the last month, all six plug coils were replaced last November, catalytic convertor within the last two years. The original style Michelin tires are good (see the pictures) as is the spare. All the tools and manuals are included. The car has been fitted with an Alpine CD/stereo. All four speakers work, but the sound is a bit fuzzy and the speakers should be replaced The Alpine controls the antenna as the original and has a working clock. The audio system has an auxiliary input jack, so you can listen to your iPod or USB device. The "Check Engine" light is on, and periodically the engine runs with reduced power. "Periodically" means it happens 2 or 3 times in a 30 minute commute. "Reduced power" is not enough to slow the car down or be felt by the passenger, but enough to be felt by the driver. Pushing down on the gas causes engine to return to normal. Other than that, it runs and drives very smoothly, just as a Jaguar should. Everything works on the car, except the following: Windshield washer, clock, light behind the thermometer that controls the climate system (you can see it in daytime just not at night), front cigarette lighter (rear works fine), and the rear window controls (you can control the windows find from the drivers panel). Everything else works exactly as it should: This includes the sunroof, cruise control, automatic climate system, power door locks and remote, all instruments, all interior lighting (including in the glove box and the vanity mirrors on both sunvisors), rear defroster, seat heaters, etc, etc, etc The body and exterior trim are in very good condition. It has had minor damage to the trunk lid (a tree branch fell on it) and the left side rocker panel (a victim of a hit and run driver while parked). Both have been properly repaired. There are two or three rust bubbles above the right rear wheel arch. Otherwise the body is very good. There are no dents or rust. The whole car was repainted two years ago. It’s not a show quality paint job, but it looks very good. The wheels, leaper (Jaguar hood ornament), bumpers and trim are all excellent. See the photos. The interior is overall in very good shape. The drivers seat has a tear in it (see the photo). The leather on drivers seat cushion and the console cover is cracked, and the cracks are discolored to some degree. The console cover being the worst. Also, the trim around the shift lever needs to be replaced, the lower part of the front passenger's door panel is loose, and the sunvisor retaining clips are broken. The lighting switch has been replaced with a knob (which works fine!) and the outside mirror knob is broken. (You can still adjust the mirrors.) The cup holder needs help. It works, but holds cups at an angle. The rest of the interior, including carpets, headliner, passenger seat, rear seats, dash covering, door panels, floor mats, instruments, control switches, sunroof, etc. is in very good condition. The only reason we are selling this is we got a replacement car. This is a beautiful, mechanically strong car. I have the title free and clear. Please feel free to e-mail me with questions. DELIVERY IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER. THIS CAR IS ADVERTISED LOCALLY, AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY IF THE CAR IS SOLD.
