Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1962 Ford Falcon 4-door station wagon – which needs complete restoration. This is a complete car, and will make an excellent project. The car needs all passenger compartment floors; cargo area is good. All glass and trim are in good condition and is complete. The car is white with its original, red interior in very good condition. There is a small dent in the left front fender, outside the headlight nacelle. The car has an original roof rack, which has one bent tube. It has the optional back-up lights. The car has its original 140 c.i. engine, which is frozen plus an extra 170 c.i. engine which has been steam-cleaned; both engines are out. It has an automatic transmission. Additional pictures are available on request. My mother and I purchased this car a few years ago as a joint project (she did bodywork, painting and general restoration; my father and brother do mechanicals; I do grunt work - sanding, polishing, etc.) My mother and I started cleaning up the car's interior and doing inventory on the project. She removed the tailgate, cleaned it up and primed it. We removed the original 140 c.i. engine, which is seized, and procured a 170, which we had steam-cleaned and were planning to rebuild. My mother removed the front floors, in anticipation of manufacturing or purchasing new ones. Unfortunately, my mother passed away two years ago, and I have stalled on the project. I'd like to see someone who really wants a Falcon wagon to have the car and complete it. The car is located in the Finger Lakes of New York, about 20 minutes from Watkins Glen International Race Track. Buyer is responsible for arranging for transport. I will be happy to share more information and answer specific questions. The driver's floor has been cleaned up and primed. The front passenger floor was the biggest problem, and mymother fabricated a steel floor, which has been pop-riveted in spots in anticipation of welding. The cargo area floor is solid. She often worked on it when I wasn't around, and I forgot how much she had done. I failed to note that the interior carpets are original and pretty good. The seats are in very good shape, as is the headliner, with a small stain by the interior light - possibly a brush with a lit cigarette. I have additional pictures of trim, door bottoms, windshield washer bag, etc. if anyone would like to see them
