Vehicle Detail
For sale is this well cared for, low miles 1986 Chevy Custom Deluxe Pick-up truck with the 305, 5.0 liter, 4 barrel carb and 4 speed automatic transmission. The best thing about this truck is the fact that it has 98K original miles and the clean, straight body as well as the title can attest to that. The man I bought this from aquired it from an estate sale. He used it for camping and it has always had a camper top on it so that is why the floor of the bed is so rust & dent free. It has new front brake calipers and hoses and the brakes work perfectly. The engine is complete down to every hose, relay and original emission equipment exactly as applied at the factory. The air, of course, doesnt work but original 25+ year old systems rarely do: its all there and untouched, get it charged if you like. The 5.0 liter motor is rock solid, doesnt leak or use oil and starts up quickly even cold: just hit the gas once and turn the key. The trans shifts flawlessly. Tires are in average condition, plenty of life left but not new either. There are 4 straight, factory 15X7" Chevy rally steel wheels, rings and pit-free centers. The charging system is flawless with a 2 year old silver battery & it has a new alternator, plugs and wires. All lights, signals, horn and gauges work: even the gas gauge. (it comes with half a tank of gas! what is THAT worth these days? ;) The cooling system is flawless and never needs topped up. The heater works great with no leaks. The single pipe exaust is clean and complete with a good catalitic converter. The interior is clean with a rip free rubber floor, clean gauge cluster and working aftermarket radio. The blue dash board could use replacing. The seat is ripped on the drivers side but the foam is solid, the door panels are solid with un-damaged arm rests. The body of the truck is almost rust free and heavy accident free, I have taken close up photos of all the damage to the body, rust and dent wise. It has solid floor pans. It has the original paint but the hood and roof have a good deal of peel. The rear bumper has a dent on the passenger side edge. Bumper chrome on the front is perfect. Grille & headlight bezels are 100% with no cracks. It has a brand new inspection. If you are wondering why I am selling, it is simple: I found a short bed Chevy Truck more to my liking. It is clean but unfortunately not as rust free as THIS truck is. I want to build a muscle truck and though this truck is more practical, I really wanted a short bed to start my project with. I see that the car fax, in all its glory, has decided that something bad happened years ago regarding the vehicles mileage. That was well before I owned this truck but I can make a guess what happened. Virginia doesnt require a notary to check mileage and that lets people get lazy. I have done it before: you go to get a vehicle titled and forget to write down the mileage before you get there, so unless you make a guess you get to stand in line at the DMV again. If this mileage is wrong I would be very surprised because these trucks dont look this good after 200K. Besides 700r 4sp auto transmissions last 150K at best. You decide, I think the photos tell the story, even if you dont take a word of my description as honest. I have started the bidding low and there is no reserve. If you are considering my truck please know that I will be here for you after the auction. If you win you will get my help to get the truck moved if you come and pick it up w/a trailer, want to drive it home and need a ride from the airport or if you employ a shipping service: I will do all I can to help you get it home. All I ask in return is you pay the $250 deposit as soon as you make the winning bid and make full payment available within 7 days. You will get a fine vehicle that is roadworthy NOW and has a current inspection. In addition you get a signed title in MY name and a bill of sale. I have done my best to describe the truck but certainly must have missed some topic of interest, if you need additional information please feel free to ask any questions you may have. BIDDING ENDS AT EXACTLY 9:00 PM EST MONDAY, MARCH the 19th so get the bids in if you want to win!
