Vehicle Detail

Up for consideration is a very nice 1980 Honda Passport that I have used solely as a parade vehicle, club rider, and promotional piece for my cycle parts operation. Adult owned and driven, not abused. Original two owner survivor that was retained for many years by a Honda dealer in his personal collection and mainly used, as I did, as a window piece. Stored inside it's entire life. Great paint and body for a 32 year old bike. Some minor shop wear here and there, light chips mainly in the two spots shown in the photographs along with the crease lines stamped on the front fork edges. No lay down damage or heavy scratches. Paint has a great shine- I have seen numerous "professional restorations" that actually look far worse than this original. Great original chrome, smooth and bright, not pitted. Runs excellent, rides great. 40-45 MPH with a six five, 260 lb man on it. Could use a new battery, generator works but the old battery seems to hold a weak charge. Shifts and brakes good. No tears in very presentable and usable original seat. Tank clean. Side cases and hubs are presentable for the most part but could benefit from a polishing. Recent oil change, this old Honda is not an oil burner. NO LEAKS. Good original pipe, nice chrome. Lights all work and original lenses are in excellent condition. Has original tool kit, manual, and accessory basket all in great shape along with the 2 original rubber topped Honda keys. Serial Number available on request, I can assure you it is a clear title in hand with no issues, not one of the "mad dashes to find a title or get one issued" that quite a few sellers on here have tried to pull on me in the past, the number is the old, unstandardized "serial number", not a modern format VIN as required at listing. Pick up in the Detroit Area strongly preferred, but delivery can be arranged if purchase is prepaid within 350 miles for .40 per mile. Thank you for looking. This is a rare find in my area at least and will be loads of fun for you this Spring, Summer, and Fall. 3/12/12 4:50 PM- I was thinking about a few things last night after I posted the Honda, mainly to clarify. I see many bad bikes on here that people post and want a fortune for. I wanted to clarify to anyone interested out there, the alloy parts are quite presentable as a rider, maybe even considerably above the norm for a 32 year old bike, I only suggested a good polish If you want to bring it up to concours quality- I'll admit I'm a bit of an extreme perfectionist, my personal bikes either have to be near perfect or I don't want them at all. A steady hand with a brush on the highlighted chips and color matched paint along with a buffer wheel with some metal polish would make this thing look straight out of 1980.
