Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over fifty large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a seller will post all but the most flattering of photographs. We prefer to expose the complete roll of film taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree. West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional and very rare example of this absolutely beautiful original southern California always garaged 1971 Triumph 'GT-6 MK III' 6 cylinder coupe in its original 'Saffron Yellow' (Code 54) color paint with a striking interior of original 'Black' color (Code 11) seats and matching carpets and it's original factory spare wheel in the trunk. All the options are working as they should including all gauges and lights. This is obviously one very rare and highly desirable example of this classic British sports car - a completely rust and accident free example of the legendary Triumph GT-6 MK 3, built between 1970-73 with only two southern California owners and with a very low but undocumented original 67K miles! The trunk, floor boards, rocker panels and all the typically rust prone areas are all completely solid and rust free - an obviously extremely rare and always garaged example that has probably hardly seen rain! Purchased in 2001 from its original owner by only its second southern California owner and with recent service history including a new electrical system; rebuilt starter and alternator, new windshield with new rubber seals on windshield and rear hatch; front suspension completely rebuilt, new water pump, new carpet, headliner, door skins and engine bay valances, new fuel pump and a new clutch and pressure plate! The original 'Saffron Yellow' color paint was repainted a year ago and is absolutely stunning, obviously painted professionally with no expense spared, including the body, interior, door jams and engine bay! The interior is also virtually flawless with beautiful black seats and matching carpets, a lovely original 3-spoke steering wheel, wooden dash appliques, wooden stick shift knob and original 'Smiths' guages. This car truly has to be seen to be appreciated and driven to be believed - drives almost like it must have when brand new! The fold forward clamshell hood allows for excellent access to the engine compartment and the engine compartment is clean enough to eat off of. The engine purrs quietly under the hood and the 4 speed manual transmission shifts nicely through the gears - an absolute pleasure to drive! The temperature always remains cool and there are no noticeable oil leaks. Only ever sold as a coupe and bearing a striking resemblance to Jaguar's sporting flagship the E-Type, the Triumph GT-6 was a clever and beautiful amalgam of the Triumph Vitesse six cylinder engine and the Spitfire's sports car styling. With a 2.0L six cylinder engine which delivered more power than another rival, the 4 cylinder MGB GT, the GT-6 has a top speed of over 110 mph and a luxury interior to match its superior performance! This refined sports car's hood had to be remodeled with a bulge in order to clear the longer and taller engine which made for a very agreeable look to compliment the cars performance and this was further enhanced in 1970 with a major face-lift tweaked by the legendary Italian stylist Michelotti who gave the Mark III its undeniably more modern and attractive masculine look for the new decade. Dropped in 1973 due to the fuel crisis as its engine was then considered too thirsty compared to its cousin, the 4 cylinder 'Spitfire'! This must be one of the finest, if not 'THE' finest example, available anywhere - without a doubt you will look long and hard to find a finer example of this rare piece of British motoring history - perfect for the Triumph enthusiast or any classic British sports car collector!
