Vehicle Detail
PLEASE READ ALL INFO ABOUT THIS CAR!!! DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING!!! PLEASE ASK IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT SOMETHING!!!! 1996 Mazda Miata White w/ black top and black interior 1.8l 4 cylinder engine, 5 speed manual transmission, manual windows, power steering, am/fm/cassette stereo 131,000 miles and counting The Good: Glossy paint. Runs, drives, shifts and stops well. Interior is in good shape, glass is in good shape. Cold ac and good heater. Everything works. Decent top (I use leather cleaner/polish on it to keep it looking good, does look faded after a month or so of driving, rain. looks almost new w/ leather cleaner applied) no air or water leaks on window. Clear title in my name ready to transfer to new owner. Current Texas inspection/license tag. Previous owner replaced timing belt at approx. 100k miles. Clutch is good, no issues shifting. Very smooth. 2 new drive belts replaced 1-2012. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ABS LIGHT!!!! Car is not a show car but is not a basket case either. I take very good care of cars that I own and will do my best to disclose every blemish that I see on the car so the buyer will know exactly they are getting. This is the 3rd NA Miata that I've owned so I am very familiar with these cars. The not so good: Trunk lid has some noticeable hail dings, front of hood has some very, very small dings from rocks I presume. There are other minor (but minimal) nicks in paint. There is a spot on pillar next to windshield where paint was chipped off and touched up. Rear window was replaced by previous owner. Looks like a shadetree mechanic job, came out pretty good but it's evident that it was replaced. He used a nice piece of lexan, cut to size, attached to top w/ construction adhesive (bled thru in some areas inside),concealed exterior with black tread tape. Wheels are daisy wheels from 90-93 Miata, complete w/ center caps on all 4 wheels, finish is a little dull (not glossy) but looks good when cleaned up. A few small cracks in front defroster but no cracks on dash. Car has an oil leak, rear seal I think. Uses about 1/2 quart of oil every 1,000 miles. Sometimes has a tick/tap from lifters when engine is cold, usually goes away quickly. Tires are decent, tread varies all 4. Not bald but will need replacing in the near future. Have not checked brake pads but car stops ok. All fluids look good. Stereo/tape deck works but display not visible because I peeled off protective lens, it was sun baked. I am very, very, very picky and have gone over the car with a fine toothed comb. Most people wouldn't notice half of the things that I've disclosed. Please keep in mind that this is a 16 year old car and is not perfect, but is in pretty good shape overall. After reading thru my disclosures, you will probably find that car is better than described. Questions you might ask: Why are you selling it? I bought this to drive while looking for a new car when my old one was totalled in an accident. No longer need it. I have driven this 90+ miles a day for the last 5 months w/ no issues or concerns. Can I come look at it? If you are in the Houston area and are serious about buying it, I would be more than happy to show it to you. Please don't waste my time and I won't waste yours! How can I pay for it? A $250 deposit is required and the balance must be paid by cash or certified bank check within 7 days of the end of the listing. Car/title will not leave without clearing of all funds Will you ship it to me? shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. I will be more than happy to make the car available for pick up from your shipper, but you must make all arrangements. Will you ship the car overseas and allow me to pay with a money order from a foreign bank that no one has ever heard of? no, no and no. Is this car right for me? This is a good driver quality car, great for the weekends, a first time driver, or even a daily driver. Fix it up, drive it as it is, or turn it into a spec racer.
